Quarantine Chronicles - Corona Style - Week 9

Welcome to another edition of Quarantine Chronicles!!  This post is my response to our current global health crisis.  It's my record of the Lockdown Life.  We're past the middle of May, already!  Can you believe we've been at this whole Stay-at-Home order thing for NINE weeks???  How did THAT happen?!?!  At least, I've got my quilting to keep me company!  Knowing that I couldn't cope with a daily post...

Corona-cation.  Week Nine.

This series began on as Thursday, March 19th.  Time is moving so quickly, even though each day seems as long as two!  Thanks for staying with me to see how the weeks are unfolding.

On Day FIFTY-SEVEN, Thursday, May 14th...

It's my favorite day of the week!  ZoomBEE met this morning:

Jean provided the group photo shown above.  It's our weekly record of those who were in attendance.

Day FIFTY-EIGHT, Friday, May 15th...

ZoomKNIT this morning.  You guessed it!  I was late...  Again!  Six members were in attendance...

This is what the others saw when I was on the screen:

Happy Cake Day, Tracy!  Thanks for spending part of your day with us:

Cindy shared exciting news for her family.  She will be gaining a daughter (in-law) in a couple of months.  Happy times:

Stacy got a lovely sweater pattern from her MIL for Mother's Day...

... Along with all the yarn...

... To make the sweater:

Beth was excited that her DH has his knee surgery scheduled:

... And she made a lot of progress on her sweater:

Linda opted for a change of scenery today.  She left her studio to knit with us from her living room:

Oh, dang!!  Sorry, Tracy.  We forgot to sing!!  :P

This afternoon, I worked on a upcoming Blog Hop post project and went to visit a neighbor.  It was a warm afternoon and I can tell you right now, summertime and cloth face masks is NOT going to be fun!

Some of my evening hours were spent on some secret sewing for the Stitching Sunshine Blog Hop coming up at the end of June.

There's still time for YOU to sign-up to be part of the festivities!

Day FIFTY-NINE, Saturday, May 16th...

This morning, I linked-up with Angela and the RSC Quilters for ScrapHappy Saturday.  This evening?  I did some extreme sewing.  Check out Monday's post to see!

Day SIXTY, Sunday, May 17th...

Here is a LINK to today's Project QUILTING post.

I also released an H2H Update post.

Between those two things, I pressed through another stack of HSTs for my niece's wedding quilt:

Day SIXTY-ONE, Monday, May 18th...

Today, Bonnie Hunter released the eighth step of UNITY: The Quiltville Sew-in-Place QAL and I'm no closer to beginning my version of her quilt than I was 8 weeks ago!  :o((

My goal is to come up with an abbreviated version of the Sew-in-Place UNITY QAL.  The resulting quilt will be something that (vaguely) resembles this segment of Bonnie's quilt:

One of these days, I'll make a start on it.  Today is NOT that day.

It's time for another Mini Monday post.  I got a little ahead of myself.  I'm ready for a Blog Hop that doesn't start for a month!

This afternoon I spent some quality time with my new(ish) rotary cutter,  Those pressed squares from yesterday weren't going to square themselves up!  That was the order of the day:

Before it was time to cook dinner, the squares were all trimmed:

Day SIXTY-TWO, Tuesday, May 19th...

I had paperwork to attend to this morning, but the afternoon was spent in the sewing room:

Day SIXTY-THREE, Wednesday, May 20th...

If you come back on Friday, you will be able to see more of what I've been working on this week:

SEW...

There you have it.  I've survived another week of this corona craziness!  Someone seems to have sped up the pace of the passing weeks.  I can't even believe that ANOTHER week has gone by!  How are YOU managing?  Are you suffering from whiplash watching the weeks whiz by?  Here's hoping that you are making the most of your time at home (if you are home) or staying safe (if you are back to work.)

Until next time...
That's it for Week NINE!!!

  1. It is definitely amazing how quickly these weeks speed by considering DH and I do pretty much the same thing every day! :) Fun to see what you've been up to, Joy! My book club has been using Zoom to meet, and enjoying it. Looking forward to seeing what you've been doing with those pretty greens!

  3. You've made good use of your time at home. You've got some very fun projects in the works. I've been back at the office for 2 weeks, took a day of vacation just to get away from all the madness and adjustments.

  4. Busy week, as always! Beautiful HST.
In France the lockdown is over (for now) but I still work from home, until June 2nd, as I'm in a red zone. Few time to sew...
Enjoy your sewing, and friend times!

  5. I love that green fabric with the pea pods on it. Woohoo for surviving another week. I always LOVE to see a nice stack of newly trimmed HST. I can't believe it's mid May already either. I was hot in my mask the other day and thought about my SIL that works in the potato chip factory and how hot her mask will get. Ugh.
