Wonderful Wednesday - A2 "Baby" - An August RSC Finish

Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday here at The Joyful Quilter blog!!  Today, I'm here to reveal another quilt finish.  It's YELLOW so it qualifies for Angela's Rainbow Scrap Challenge, as that was the Color of the Month for August.  I finished it just in time!

Each of my UFO finishes get air time here on the blog.  This is the story of my A2 "Baby" quilt...

This quilt was begun at a Quilt Retreat back in 2023.  You can see the beginnings of the Jumbo Jelly Roll alongside my completed projects, as it was being folded up to be packed for my return trip home:

Alas, it sat once I returned and the top can be seen in THIS POST folded on the rail of the long arm in the final entry for March of 2024.  The top was assembled, but I wasn't able to find a completed photo and it hasn't appeared on my UFO List since Summer of 2025.

When my friend Britt decided to host a Mini Retreat a few weeks ago, I decided that this project needed to go along with me.  As it turned out, that was a really good plan!  Here I am auditioning threads for the pin basted top in preparation for quilting:

The quilting took place after dinner on the first night of the retreat:

I left with the quilting complete:

Once again, A2 Baby sat...

Last weekend, I decided that using the backing off-cuts would be an acceptable way to complete the quilt.  I cut the strips and prepped the binding on Saturday afternoon.  No Photo.

Early that evening, the binding was attached.  Hands need to rest so the binding was stitched down the next afternoon.  You know what that means, right?!

A2 Baby is DONE:

Here is a shot with the cat backing fabric showing:

And...

Of course, the traditional porch swing photo:

While the project doesn't appear on this year's UFO Challenge, nor on the Summer 2026 (Ravelry) UFO Club list, it IS a UFO and it is DONE.  No complaints here.  :o))

Until next time...
Mark another UFO off the list!!!
