Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday here at The Joyful Quilter!! I've been keeping a secret. I'm here to report on another finished a project! Not just any project, but a UFO from my Summer 2025 UFO Club list. It's been done since Saturday afternoon. Travel plans made it impossible to post until now.
When I was thinking of what I might like to do during PURPLE month at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, I immediately thought of one of the projects pieced during a not-so-recent quilt retreat:
3. Grape Candy Coated (2023)
I didn't have the time or talent to quilt this the way I wanted it done, so I phoned a friend. Fortunately, Britt had an opening in her longarming schedule for me.
The was what I found when I arrived to pick up the quilt...
Blurry photo, but the quilt turned out just the way I had hoped:
A couple of days later, the quilt was squared up...
The scrappy binding has been ready since the top was assembled:
Here's a prebound photo of the front...
And the back:
The binding was applied during Friday's Weekly Evening Art Zoom and sewn down during Saturday's Monthly Reflection Workshop, as it was the only time available for the task. (Sorry, Caylee!) Below, you will find the quilt's porch picture. Both the front...
~ 66" wide x 70" tall
And the back of the quilt of the super scrappy quilt:
With those done, I took the completed quilt back inside for a finished floor shot. Front...
And the back with the binding clearly showing:
Special thanks to Britt for taking the time to quilt this beauty for me, as I wouldn't have been able to complete it this month without her help!!! Also, thank you to Amanda Jean Nyburg formerly of Crazy Mom Quilts blog (from her book Sunday Morning Quilts co-authored with Cheryl Arkison.) This was a super fun pattern (which I may or may not have followed to the letter. Whoops!)
Until next time...
Mark another UFO off the list!!
What a lovely finish on this one--I love all those purple/grape/lavender shades--nice work;))) Hugs, Julierose
