Throwback Thursday - A Double Dose of Art Supplies

Welcome to another edition of Throwback Thursday!!  I've been holding out on you.  There were art supplies to share, but posting didn't happen before now.  The timing was interesting.

Read on to find out more...

I told you about the day that Quilt Diva Julie's box of art supplies arrived, right?

The timing was interesting because...

On the day Julie's box arrived (scroll to Thursday's entry), I had made a stop in Durham, NC at The Scrap Exchange.  It's a wonderful resource for teachers and artists - a bit of a recycling center for all things craft related.  I was nearby for another errand and decided to indulge my inner artist.  It's been ages since my last visit!

I can't recall what I thought I might be interested in, but I came home with the following items:

Just to give you an idea of the savings on the "big ticket" items I purchased:

PRISMACOLOR 24-pencil set retails for $21.88
FISKARS Hexie Punch sells for $19.99
FISKARS Circle Punch retails for $14.00
Metal Desk Organizer - exact model no longer available $23.97

My price:

PRISMACOLOR 24-pencil set - NEVER USED - $4.00
FISKARS Hexie Punch - $3.00
FISKARS Circle Punch - $2.00
Metal Desk Organizer -exact model no longer available - $6.00

Obviously, I made out like a bandit.

Until next time...
I'll be playing with paint and paper!!!

Wonderful Wednesday - Quilt Con 2024 - Raleigh, NC

WARNING:  PHOTO HEAVY POST!!!

Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday!!  I'm here to share last week's excursion to Quilt Con 2024.  My friends and I felt like we had won the lottery when the host city was announced last year.  We were SEW excited that Quilt Con was coming to Raleigh, NC... Basically, right in our backyard, the event was only an hour from home.

If you follow me on Instagram or if you saw last week's RSC post, you might have seen the first portion of this post...

Here we are, Knittingsuek and me, near the front of the line and ready to head into the venue:

One of the day's highlights was our "Fan Girl" moment when wandering through the "Large Quilt" category.  Karen Brown @ Just Get It Done Quilts was kind enough to take a selfie with us:

What I didn't share there was a selection of quilt photos from that I took at the show...

Note:  The photos are followed by the signage for each quilt:

Here is an over view of the show from the balcony...

The special exhibit which I completely missed:

Thanks for dragging me along to the show, Sue!!  I had a wonderful day.  For those of you who missed the news...

I bought NOTHING!!!

However, I did bring home one memento of the day...

This beautiful Salt Cellar Pincushion from Lesley @ Storts Market:

Thank you for your generous gift, Lesley!

Until next time...
A day out with a friend is a thing of beauty!!!
