ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC22 - Week 7

Welcome to Week 7 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week I had some other sewing to do, so there weren't any AQUA/TEAL scraps flying around the studio.  I'm hoping you still want to see what I've been up to.

Let's take a look...

SUNDAY - A couple of weeks ago, I was excited to see that Mari @ The Academic Quilter has decided to be the temporary home of Hands2Help 2022.  Today she shared the Kick-Off POST:

It was Super Bowl Sunday!!  That has meant a number of different things over the years...

Today was a different sort of day.  Virtual Sew Day:

... And a cooking day.  Prepping for Valentine's Day dessert and making a meal so the meat didn't go bad.

We're not into the commercialism of the "holiday" but I dressed for the occasion:

... Made this lovely dessert for my chocolate-loving guys:

Got these flowers from one of DH's holiday-loving employees:

And...

A little pack of tasty treats:

Along with...

One single (yet oh-SEW-special) quilted Valentine received from Linda @ Art in Search and I may have just the right frame for it, if I can find it in the remaining boxes waiting to be unpacked from the move:

Thank you SEW much for this special Valentine greeting, Linda!!

The fun begins...

I'm saying that sarcastically, as there will be a new neighborhood going in at the end of our street.  The heavy machinery began arriving this morning, forcing me to drive across the front lawn when I headed out to run some errands:

Wordle in three:

My roses are opening nicely:

THURSDAY - I popped into ZoomBEE just as my quilting friends were finishing up the meeting:

I did some cutting for this week's Stay At Home Round Robin prompt:

AQUA/TEAL scissors!  Does that count?

Since I worked yesterday afternoon, my weekly Zoom with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color took place today:

We experienced some technical difficulties and Milo couldn't figure out what the problem was, so wasn't able to fix the situation:

I missed ZoomKNIT... AGAIN!!  Work gets in the way of all the fun stuff.  :o((

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week.  You might even see fair amount of AQUA/TEAL scrap sewing.  :o))

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!

  1. I got that Wordle in 3, as well! How do you pick your starting word? I usually look at something in my surroundings and try to have at least two vowels. It throws me when they use a letter twice, though.

  2. Lots of busy things will be happening once the building start. This month was a slow start on aqua for me too. Got the blocks done and we now have to deal with mounting snow and more snow. Have a great week.

  3. Wordle in three! Congrats! It took me 4! I’ve mostly been sewing on my Table Scraps, so will wait til I post to your Linky Party next weekend! And bit of cross stitch! I did do some string blocks too, I almost forgot!

  5. We don't do much for Valentine's day either, but chocolate is always welcome. And now I'm curious-- are they beuilding a new subdivision? And why were they blocking your driveway? Hope that gets better!

  7. Wow , I love your blog style! I think I change my focus every week. Someday I may settle on one! We have a fancy dinner on VD but we all should be loving all the time shouldn't we? Stay safe and sew on!

  10. Love the roses and the card. That cake makes me crave chocolate now, lol. It looks so delicious! Don't like the big trucks coming in your neighborhood. Hope they only have one house to build then leave. They stink you know. (Can't stand the smell of diesel.) ;^)

  11. I must have missed Wordle that day and I have not solved one since Monday! Yikes on the new construction - I hope they are leaving weekend mornings quiet for you. Hope some sewing is able to happen this weekend.

  14. Sorry about the construction. Never fun to live with all those machines. Looks like you had a happy holiday though.

  15. Gosh, I missed this post for some reason. Valentine's Day would have been our 35th anniversary, so I think it will always be a sad day for me now. I couldn't come up with that Wednesday Wordle. Got to the 3rd tier and just couldn't get any farther. First time I was stumped. Could the new housing construction be the reason the previous owners of you new house were selling?
