ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC20 - Week 1

Welcome to Week 1 of the 2020 Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  I'm back for another year of scrappy fun.  Our fearless leader, Angela over at So Scrappy blog, chooses a Color of the Month throughout the year for the RSC Quilters to play with.  January's color is:

LIGHT/BRIGHT GREEN

I try to use the Color of the Month each week of the month.  Even if I don't get to sew!  This might include polishing my nails with the color, looking for the color in nature or on a shopping trip, or digging through my scrap bags, baskets, and bins.  Whatever it is, I bring it to YOU during Angela's weekly LINK PARTY.

These are (some of) the scraps that I will be working with this month:

Here's how the first week of the year went...

SUNDAY - This year, I decided to participate in Cheryl's Linky Party over on Meadow Mist Designs.  Today, I released my Best of 2019 blog post.  I was surprised that I managed to find a project that I hadn't added to my sidebar... Just like the LAST (first) time I participated in the Best of Linky Party way back in 2016.

MONDAY - Another day, another blog post release.  Mail Call!!!  This post reveals the lovely gifts that I received from friends during the Holiday season.

But first...

I got up early (after being awake half the night) and headed to Knit Group.  An abbreviated version of the group.  I couldn't stay long because Tracy and I scheduled a nail appointment.  She hasn't gotten a manicure in YEARS (and I was due for a pedicure.)

Well, friends, that's where things went wrong...

My back story.

Let's just leave it at this.  Today's incident was the 3rd time in 10 days that I experienced back spasms.  OUCH!!!

TUESDAY - Say it isn't SEW!!!  It's the FINAL day of 2019.  The final day of a decade.  Tomorrow begins the year 2020, but first...

Let's take a look back at The Year in Review for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  Go on!  Go have a look, if you have a moment (and didn't happen to see it in your inbox already.)

As if I wasn't far enough behind on my Frolic Mystery, Bonnie released Clue 6 this morning.  I pulled some fabrics, but threw my back out yesterday and don't want to do anything to aggravate it:

WEDNESDAY - Happy New Year!!!  Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the blogosphere.  Wishing you all the quilting time that you desire in the coming decade!

RSC20 - The Plan was released today.  The Rainbow Scrap Challenge is Angela's brainchild that helps me (and many other quilters around the globe) work through the fabric scraps in or stash one color at a time.  In this post, I've revised what I thought I was going to do for the year.  I condensed my list into a simpler version of itself, narrowing my focus to just a few project in hopes that might increase productivity.

THURSDAY - This morning, I released my Autumn 2019 (Ravelry) UFO Club - The Results post before heading out to my Weekly Quilt Group.  I was afraid that they would have to meet without me in attendance.  It was an uncomfortable drive across town, but an enjoyable visit with my friends.

I showed off all of the quilty Christmas gifts that I received:

FRIDAY - This morning, I released my Winter 2020 (Ravelry) UFO Club - The List post.  It showcases the projects from which I will choose to finish during the first quarter of the year.

I was pleased to attend Knit Group today.  I showed off my newly turned heel on my Halloween Socks made from hand-dyed yarn from Blueberry Chick:

Can you see the bits of Light/Bright GREEN in there for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge?!?!

Before leaving for Knit Group, I visited Quiltville to see what Bonnie posted for Clue 7 of her Frolic Mystery.  ROFL!!!  More HSTs are the order of the day.  This time, I will play with this selection of fabrics:

The weekend has arrived.  Whew!!  Am I glad about that?  Yes.  Yes, I am.  Pizza Night with my guys makes me VERY happy!

Well... Until my back went out.  AGAIN!!!  :o(

SATURDAY - It time for Angela's first LINK PARTY of the new decade over on her So Scrappy blog.  It's the first chance of 2020 for the RSC Quilters to show off the scrappy pursuits.  If you need some quilt-spiration, follow the link above.  You are sure to be amazed by all of the Light/Bright GREEN sewing that has happened this week.

I had a tough choice to make, as it is the day for January's Sew/Craft Friends-zy.  Should I stay or should I go???  My heart says go, but my back says skip it.  Which one will win???

Well, it appears that my pain wins.  I'm staying home.  :o((

DS1 says it's time to go to the doctor.  Needleb says it's time for the chiropractor.  I say it's for Advil and more ice.  Ugh!

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!!

  6. Chiropractor made me 50% more functional again on my first visit after a fall that produced 3 'blown' disks (later MRI); the relief from him was instant, bringing me from a pain level 8 down to 4. I'd never been to one before, but now I get it, lol. Feeling it for you, dear. Best wishes.
