Wonderful Wednesday - Magical Sew Day

Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday!!  Oh, the wonders of the internet.  Thanks to Zoom, I recently enjoyed a Sew Day with the Greater Ann Arbor Quilt Guild.  In Michigan.  While I was in my home studio in North Carolina.  Pure magic.

The Guild President there contacted me for permission to use the Magic Stars tutorial posted HERE on my blog.  I was thrilled that they would be making donation quilts from it.  The quilts started during today's work day will be donated to SafeHouse:

Fifteen members of the Guild were in and out of the meeting during the time that I was visiting:

A couple of the quilters got started...

... Ahead of the day's Zoom meeting:

Others began the day of the event:

As they sewed, I worked on the binding for my final donation quilt for Hands2Help:

I was SEW impressed that Lynne showed up for the meeting, even though her house was without power.  Can you say extension cords?!

Such variety in the blocks made during the Sew In:

Two of the quilters shared the same sewing space for the day:

This may have been one of the only Layer Cakes used:

By the time I needed to leave for my next event, I had completed the task that I had set out to do.  My final H2H donation was done and bound:

Thank you to the members of Greater Ann Arbor Quilt Guild for welcoming into their midst.  It was a productive day.

Special thanks to those quilters who had questions about the tutorial!  Their questions forced me to take another look at what was posted on the blog.  Even though a number of people have made quilts with the instructions, NO ONE has ever pointed out the TYPO in the directions!!  The incorrect measurement was corrected immediately.  Thank you, again.

Until next time...
Quilt to give!!!

  5. That's neat, Joy! I bet it was fun to see your Magic Stars coming together in lots of different fabrics and colors. I can't say I ever noticed a typo in the tutorial, but glad you got it fixed!

  6. Typo? I'm terrible at spelling. Sounds like you had a fun day and love the last quilt for H2H. Mine were dropped at the UPS store yesterday =)

  8. I love zooming and am considering doing just that even though some of my guild events are starting to meet in person. If snacks were allowed, I may just change my mind! Ha!
