Tidy Up Tuesday - Graduation Style

Welcome to another edition of Tidy Up Tuesday!!  Today I'm here to share the graduation gift that I made over the weekend.  What do you make for a neighbor that you rarely speak with?  At a party with an invitation which stated, "No gifts, please"?!

I went with a mug rug...

Using free cut letters, I used fabrics from the scrap basket and made an "E" for our neighbor's initial:

The opposite side shows a bit of school spirit:

I might have finished this little mug rug right before the party...

... With no time to wait for the sun to cooperate with my photography:

Whoops!  It appears that I went a little too yellow with my gold:

The graduate was excited to receive her new quilted mug rug:

Happy graduation!  Best of luck for a bright future, E.

  1. I think that's a fun gift for a graduate! Useful and easy to transport when the graduate moves to wherever her new job is. Great idea, Joy!
