Community Quilts from The Junction - The Farmed Out Quilt Top

Welcome to the first installment of a new series of posts titled Community Quilts from The Junction!!  Let me explain.

Not long ago, I signed up to do some finishing for an online charity quilt program.  Fabric, blocks, and quilt tops are delivered to a central point for redistribution.  Finishers (like me) take the fabric to make blocks, take the blocks to make tops, or take the tops to complete the quilts.  The completed quilts are donated to any charity organization of the finishers choosing.  The only stipulation is that we report back to Jo @ Jo's Country Junction.

The top and bottom quilt on this stack arrived several weeks ago:

You can find that story in THIS post about the quilts that I finished for Hands2Help.

Here is a(nother) chapter in the story of my first shipment...

This is the third of seven quilt tops sent to me by Jo.  This is a quilt that may have been made by the Cresco Ladies:

Needleb took it home and quilted it on her longarm:

B tried out a new panto on this:

Just look at that lovely texture:

She trimmed it up and bound it:

Another take on an interior photo:

A close-up:

Another look at the glorious texture:

The quiltmaker used a strip pieced pattern for this scrappy quilt to make a cohesive whole and B's quilting added to that:

This sweet pink quilt will soon be on its way to Quilty Hugs for Happy Chemo.  Needleb was SEW grateful for the opportunity to finish this for the Community Quilts program at Jo's Country Junction.  It allowed her to contribute to this year's Hands2Help Comfort Quilt Drive with Sarah @ Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

NOTE:  The panto used can be found at THIS LINK.

Until next time...
QUILT for comfort!!!

  4. Another cheerful finish to comfort someone with a quilty hug. I made a quilt with that pattern during two quilt retreats and finally quilted and finished it this winter. I really like how it turned out, so I haven't been able to give it away yet, even though I don't really need it.

  8. Joyful,
Can you ask Needleb what the panto is or where she got it? Looks like a good on to have on hand👍.

  9. I'm with Rosie Westerhold and would love to know the panto name. This is the first time on your site and I love it. I'm not getting anything done today viewing all of these gorgeous quilts! :-)
