Design Floor Friday - Sew/Craft Friends-zy Style

Welcome to another edition of Design Floor Friday!!  I'm here to share the Sew Day/mini retreat that I attended last weekend.  This is the second such event that I've attended.  I'm here to tell you, it's going to take a while to get used to!  We are SEW out of practice at gathering our supplies and schlepping them to an area outside the four walls of our sewing spaces.

Here are the quilters...

We are willing to continue practicing...

As our organizer is thrilled to be out of the house:

We also had a special guest...

... As the puppy sitter fell through at the last minute:

The artist was all set up, but was missing in action:

These scrapbookers were also in attendance...

This quilting friend wandered in just before lunchtime:

Note to self, don't wear gray on quilting days:

Lots of fun projects in the works...

The driveby scrapbooker made an appearance...

... And the artist finally arrived:

He's working on a series of painted coats (purchased at the thrift store) for a show to support the local SPCA:

Here's the reason this post got placed in the Design Floor Friday series here on the blog:

Bits of progress throughout the afternoon...

Thank you to Denise!  She got frustrated that I wasn't sewing and went home to get her spare machine for me to use!  If you look closely at the photo, you can see that cutting was keeping me busy for the bulk of the day:

Tiffany is the only one who managed to finish a project...

Denise is SEW close to getting her quilt top together...

The rows of my Rainbow, Baby! are all sewn and ready to be assembled:

The last woman working:

I made a side trip to Alpaca Chicken on the way home:

What a wonderfully productive day we had!  Sending out a special thank you to Tiffany for arranging our use of the church hall.  We're all looking forward to next month's event.

Until next time...
Be sew CRAFTY!!!

  3. Yep, getting together with a few fully-vaccinated buds is definitely refreshing, even if we are out of packing practice!

  5. Meeting in person again feels so good! But "schlepping" stuff is right! Makes one really appreciate the convenience of virtual sewing. Your rainbows quilt pieces look great! Glad you had a good time.
