Welcome to Week 20 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!! Our hostess is Angela @ So Scrappy. When she announced RED as the Color of the Month for May, I might have groaned.
And then I got to work...
SUNDAY - I took a trip across town to pick up some RED fabric from B for my Hometown Hero project for Hands2Help:
Later, I played with some small scraps...
MONDAY - Yesterday's little pieced panel was quilted, assembled, and bound this afternoon:
TUESDAY - I started off my day by testing the Swirl pattern on this amazing quilt currently loaded on the longarm. I'm guessing you know what the rest of my day looked like:
WEDNESDAY - While waiting for time to...
... Zoom with LeeAnna:
I decided today would be a work day. At first, I thought I would sew, but then I decided that I would cut out my TABLE SCRAPS Challenge entry for the month:
After dinner, I attached the binding to this donation quilt:
THURSDAY - While we had planned for an in-person/outdoor meeting, Mother Nature had other ideas. Here we are at ZoomBEE:
In the midday, Needleb stopped by to drop off her Blooming 9-Patch for our Quilting Swap. She is working on my Birthday Quilt, but was dragging her feet on prepping her own quilt:
Later in the afternoon, Linda came to retrieve her quilt fresh off the rails:
I spent the evening hours pressing (and sewing) these RED scraps:
FRIDAY - My day started with ZoomKNIT and...
... There was progress on my Minion Socks:
By the end of the meeting, I had added the final rounds and bound off my second sock. All that remains is weaving in the ends:
This also happened. Another donation quilt has its binding sewn down:
SATURDAY - LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!! I hope you will head over to Angela's So Scrappy blog to see what the RSC Quilters have been doing with their RED scraps.
This is what I made last night. (Oops! Make that Thursday night. Sometimes, I just can't keep track of the days!) It's the Red Braid Table Runner from Anorina's tutorial @ Samelia's Mum:
It's my entry for the May 2021 TABLE SCRAPS Challenge.
Reminder to participants...
The Table Scraps Link Party will be open from 12:00 AM on Friday, May 28th - 11:59 PM on Sunday, May 30th. I hope YOU are working on a project and plan to join in the fun.
Until next time...
You've had a super busy week and I'm soooooo happy to see your red braid table runner. It looks fantastic.ReplyDelete
Sounds like another busy, productive week! The basket is darling and I love the quilted swirl design. Great looking socks and a very striking table runner. ~JeanneReplyDelete
That's a pretty table runner Joy! I like your swirl quilting pattern. That's a cute little basket; will it stay with you?ReplyDelete
Pretty table runner for the month, Joy! I am also working on mine.ReplyDelete
The Minion socks looks fun, warm and soft.
What a busy, piece-y, quilt-y, knit-y, running about and Zooming week you had! It's wonderful that you made time each day for your favorite craft. I'm sure those who work full-time are envious, as I once was pre-retirement. I too would be hard-pressed to come up with red fabric, red scraps, or something I would want to make using red! Your use of red in the table runner is beautiful.ReplyDelete
Love your red braided tablerunner, Joy! That is great! So sorry the weather messed with your in-person bee get together. My group was able to meet that way - we had snow on Tuesday, but it warmed up perfectly for Thursday.ReplyDelete
Lovely table runner Joyful! My red placemat is not moving along so quickly, I'm afraid.ReplyDelete
The red braid runner is awesome!! Red is my favorite color. You had a productive week, and it's always fun to see how much you use Zoom to connect with friends. My friends just aren't comfortable using it for some reason.ReplyDelete
another busy week and love your red braid!ReplyDelete
Blame it on Covid that Joy cannot paint her nails red (to match the color of the RSC). And so she dons her bright red sweater that puts Red Riding Hood to shame :-DReplyDelete
Always fun to see how your week goes. Darn it.... I need to start thinking about the challenge!ReplyDelete
Love the table runner-- and that very cute thread catcher, too!ReplyDelete
Your table runner is great! Good for you! I’m starting on mine! I did get to meet in-person with 7of our Thursday Stitchers Group! We used to meet, before Covid every Thursday at the Catholic school! That will never happen again! They are growing and have taken the space they used to let us use and made it into a classroom! And they will be reluctant to just have anybody in their school! So we meet at our library! It will work I think! Fun to see everyone. No masks in Wyoming!ReplyDelete
no one is as busy with diverse activities as you are!ReplyDelete
It's so much fun keeping up with you on this blog. I'm sure I couldn't begin to keep up with you in real life! Have a happy productive week.ReplyDelete
What a fun and busy week you had!! I think Red likes you even if you groaned - haha!ReplyDelete
Love seeing your different projects. Even though you groaned, I think you did fabulously with red. Love those socks! They must be so comfy!ReplyDelete
Oh my, I'd better get busy with my red scraps runner, but I have no ideas and the outdoor work is calling me. 3 days away in Michigan hasn't helped. Argh!ReplyDelete
Nice to see the red work out for you!ReplyDelete
