ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC21 - Week 14

Welcome to Week 14 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week is a mystery to me.  I have NO IDEA how it's going to go!  There are a LOT of projects that I hope to finish and some other things on the agenda which may or may not interfere with that plan.

Let's take a look at what REALLY happened...

SUNDAY - A different kind of Sew Some Love Sunday went live this morning.  Some of the same quilting friends were involved, but there was a different sort of request to be filled.

This afternoon, The Guest Blogger(s) released a new post, as Connie had an update to share.  Here's the LINK.

Tonight's project was finishing up the quilting on Cheryl K's donation quilt to make way for tomorrow's project:

MONDAY - This morning, I met my friend Tracy for knitting:

That didn't go so well, since my measurements were based on compensating for the thicker yarn that I used on my last pair of socks!!  Once the heel was turned, I found that I had knit a kid sized sock, as evidenced by the fact that the heel (that blue and yellow bump on the "floor side" of the gray wedge) ended up at my arch:

Some time later, a new {Not so...} Mini Monday post went live.  While I really meant to share a completed quilt, this is as far as I could go before loosing hope and just wanting to make sure that I got linked-up to the SAHRR Parade:

TUESDAY - Also languishing on the longarm, is my Weekly Quilt Group's Pineapple Pieces quilt top that I was hoping to have finished for my trip out that way tomorrow to get my 2nd Covid vaccine:

Ignore the fact that I loaded the longarm incorrectly.  (Still not sure how I managed that rookie mistake!)  That error was corrected after taking the photo above.  Proof in the photo below, showing both quilts loaded side by side on one piece of wide backing:

Sometime during the day, I released a new edition of Tidy Up Tuesday.  Click over to find out what I made from these scraps:

Since I might not be home from my immunization appointment for  our usual time tomorrow, LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color and I enjoyed our Zoom call today:

A short while later (as I was cooking dinner), I got a text from Neebleb asking if I would be joining the meeting.

MEETING?!?!

How could I forget my monthly Evening Bee's Zoom???  (I only sent the notice out a day or two ago!)  I called in reinforcements for kitchen duty (Thanks, DS2!!) and joined the call:

WEDNESDAY - It was a Wonderful Wednesday and I had a date with a needle of a different sort... My 2nd Covid vaccine appointment was this afternoon:

... Along with a bit of quilty goodness in it:

Follow the link above to find out more.

Today, the RSC Quilters said goodbye, GREEN!!  As a last hurrah, I chose fabrics for my RSC blocks that I'm NOT making this year:

THURSDAY - This morning, I was singing a different tune.  Welcome, Bright and/or Light BLUE!!  I snapped a picture of my overflowing Quilted Scrap Basket holding the latter of the two shades:

I wasn't sure that I would make it to my ZoomBEE meeting.  Chills and fever hit late last night.  There was a bit of a headache and a fair amount of brain fog, but I managed to attend:

Once the meeting, I took care of some paperwork and released a post titled Winter 2021 (Ravelry) UFO Club - The Results.  Follow the link to find out how we did.

After all of that, I had another round of fever and chills.  You know what that meant, right?  I spent the rest of the day in bed.

FRIDAY - These 5 friends joined in for ZoomKNIT this morning:

I added some length to the foot of my sock the other night.  This is me, showing my friends my progress after finishing the final few rows...

... Of my freshly turned heel.  Again.  I'm pleased to report that it fits perfectly this time!!  Here is a better look at the project with its Bright BLUE stripes for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge:

While checking emails at lunch, I saw that Angela released April's Full Stop block TUTORIAL.  I'll bet that you KNOW what I did this afternoon!!  Here is my Light BLUE Asterisk block:

SATURDAY - It's Link Party day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week.  The Color of the Month for April was revealed that weekend so there's no way to predict what we might see.  I'm guessing that Bright and Light BLUE will feature prominently in the link photos.

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!!

  5. I hope you are feeling better each day! Sorry about the “ickys” for a few days! I think that means you are Good To Go in two weeks! Hope you took a little “extras care” of yourself! I am still loving the pinnie you gifted me, I like that it’s got a little heft. I placed a bobbin over a big headed pin when I was hand sewing the binding to my bunny mini and it worked so well! It just fed smoothly as I retreaded my needle. Thank you again!

  10. You have a lot of balls being juggled and forgetting some things are normal, so do not sweat the small stuff. Enjoy your Easter weekend.

  11. It seems a lot of people are suffering from chills after receiving the second vaccine dose? Hope you are feeling fine now. Our vaccines have only been for essential front line border workers and hospital staff so far, but I'm sure the rest of us will get called up soon.

  13. So sorry you had a bad reaction to your 2nd shot. Hopefully you are over all of that by now and can look forward to having a little more freedom. You sure didn't slow down much, though, despite feeling poorly for a few days. Happy Easter.
