For kicks and grins, here is a LINK to my very first UFO Club post.

It's true confession time...

The quilts that were finished during the quarter were marked (DONE!)   Of the five remaining quilts on that list, only ONE has since been completed.  That's right!  FOUR projects on that original list are STILL waiting their turn beneath the needle.

Don't you feel terrible about that, Joyful???

Not at all.  (Well, maybe just a little bit.)  Here's the thing, my list is a moving target and I'm perfectly OK with that!  There are a number of factors that play into my not finishing all the items on my list.
  1.  My list was too long (Intentionally so, to cover my whims.)
  2.  I might have had commissions to work on during the quarter.
  3.  The goal for any given quarter is ONE completed UFO.
  4.  Extenuating circumstances or I was focused on "Oh, shiny!"
  5.  There were gifting occasions that took precedence.

10 years of UFO Finishes...

We KNOW that I didn't always finish the projects on my goal list, but let's take a look at the number of UFOs that I did manage to knock off my list:

 Summer Fall Winter Spring Year
 Summer 2010 - 5  Fall 2010 - 2  Winter 2011 - 1  Spring 2011 -  2  Year One - 10
 Summer 2011 - 1 Fall 2011 - 1 Winter 2012 - 1 Spring 2012 - 3 Year Two - 6
 Summer 2012 - 1 Fall 2012 - 0 Winter 2013 - 0 Spring 2013 - 0 Year Three - 1
 Summer 2013 - 0 Fall 2013 - 0 Winter 2014 - 6 Spring 2014 - 1 Year Four - 7
 Summer 2014 - 1 Fall 2014 - 1 Winter 2015 - 1 Spring 2015 - 3 Year Five - 6
 Summer 2015 - 2 Fall 2015 - 0 Winter 2016 - 0 Spring 2016 - 3 Year Six - 5
 Summer 2016 - 2 Fall 2016 - 0 Winter 2017 - 1 Spring 2017 - 2 Year Seven - 5
 Summer 2017 - 2 Fall 2017 - 0 Winter 2018 - 2 Spring 2018 - 0 Year Eight - 4
 Summer 2018 - 1 Fall 2018 - 2 Winter 2019 - 1 Spring 2019 - 4 Year Nine - 8
 Summer 2019 - 4 Fall 2019 - 1 Winter 2020 - 1 Spring 2020 - 1 Year Ten!! - 7
Summer Finishes-19 Fall Finishes- 7 Winter Finishes -14 Spring Finishes-19 Total UFOs- 59

I'm pretty pleased with my UFO Club success rate.  Especially considering the fact that those 59 projects weren't ALL of my finishes for the last 10 years.  In the words of Needleb, "For sure, not by a long shot!"  (My annual lists of completed projects over in the sidebar will confirm that fact.)

What's up with that string of zero finishes, Joyful??

About that entire year with no UFO Club finishes... extenuating circumstances.  Life has a way of getting in the way of our quilting sometimes.  That year was one of those times.

Here is my list for the Summer 2020 (Ravelry) UFO Club:
1. Snowflake Blues (2019)
2. Cotton, Baby! (2020)

3. Mel's Wedding Quilt (2019)

18Where's Jackson? (2011)

At home
How many years CAN a dog sit on a sewing table?  Only time will tell...

Sit.  Stay.  Good dog!
Note: This one was added in at the request of my friend

19. QE2 Goodbye Quilt (2000)

2015 is the year to complete this quilt... I've been in NC nearly 15 years!

Note:  Five years later (see caption above) and the quilt is STILL not done!!!

My goal is ONE finish for the quarter.  More than that is a bonus!  (I just like to have options.)  This quarter, it's my Covid-19!  My way of celebrating living through the last 3 months in (relative) quarantine, while giving me something to focus on during the next 3 months.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT...

If YOU missed yesterday's post about the group's Spring Finishes, go back and have a look.  The 10 year totals included are astounding.

Until next time...
Wish me luck!!

  2. You've got some great projects in the works. Good luck with your summer quest to rid the sewing room of at least one UFO.

  3. With all the new projects we start, it is hard to finish all of those UFO's.
