Mail Call Monday - Quilt Starter, etc.

Welcome to another edition of Mail Call Monday!!  In this

Thank you to Belindybe on Ravelry for the package that arrived last week:

Oh, look!  Inside was this year's Swap Gift:

Here is the note Belinda included:

I received this gorgeous hand woven hot pad:

Here it is in use at dinner tonight:

She will be receiving a set of pot holders... Eventually!!  (Don't worry.  She was prepared for the wait.)

Next...

Thank you to Preeti @ Sew Preeti Quilts for sending a squishy envelope filled with...

... These wonderful quilt seeds from her quilt, Men in Black:

The two blocks were leftover when a design change was employed:

Photo compliments of Preeti's blog post linked above!!

Preeti offered to send them when I commented:

... your Men in Black quilt just solved an age old problem for me and I now know EXACTLY what to make for P. - who loved his sister's quilt made of those very same blocks!

We went on to have a conversation about the quilt I offered to make more years ago than I like to admit and how the "empty" spaces in her quilt make P's quilt seem less daunting.  My challenge now, will be finding some more contemporary fabrics to augment the collection that I have gathered (for his quilt) over the years.

Then...

Thank you to Wanda @ Exuberant Color for the package that arrived in today's mail:

She included this note:

The package was filled with a selection of black and white scraps:

Wanda was done with them and I was running out.  Win-win!  :o))

Last, but by no means least...

Thank you to my wonderful husband, who received a package in today's mail.  Inside that package were these two plastic baggies:

Do you have any idea what was inside???

I'll give you a hint!  It just helped me sew this seam:

Below, you will see ONE quarter-inch foot attached to my "travel" machine and another sitting off to the side...

... For my "stationary" machine up in the studio:

You see, the "replacement" machine didn't come with a quarter-inch foot and it was a hassle to lug it from machine to machine.  I was dealing with it, but then the ONE foot went missing, somewhere between SECU Family House and home.  :o((

Missing the foot that I most depend on was making me a VERY grumpy quilter.  Well, thanks to DH (who was probably sick of hearing me whine about missing my favorite machine foot), now there are TWO!!  Color me one happy maker!

All in all, I'd say that was one HAPPY mail box!

Until next time...
Sew go QUILT!!!

  1. You got lots of fun mail this week, Joyful, but I have to say, the most exiting, if I were receiving the mail, would be the quarter inch foot. (I don't have one!) How convenient it must be. Enjoy!

  2. Yay for DH! We call that quarter inch foot a "critical spare." The boat has quite a few of them, and so does the quilt studio :)
