I woke early on Saturday. Instead of rolling over and going back to sleep, I opted to get up, get ready, and leave for the May meeting of Sew/Craft Friends-zy. Highly unusual, I know, but it REALLY worked for me!!
Here are the highlights of the day...
As mentioned above, I arrived early and set up my sewing station:
Let's not forget the M&M station and the ORANGE scraps for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge:
This is Tiffany, grinning from ear to ear, as I am not normally on time to these events:
She made this pin cushion out of my scraps:
Now, she has made TWO smaller pin cushions out of some of the scraps from last month's new project:
Patty joined us for another day of sewing:
She had her supplies packed in this lovely bag:
Here is Tiffany with her new machine and those beautiful Scrap Jar Star blocks in process:
The artist was working on a new-to-him technique:
He experimented with "pour overs":
This is Lisa's project, but she is nowhere in sight:
Tiffany got a new mini iron (like Denise and Joy.) She already made an adorable little cover for it, too:
Her pocket interiors will be this pale green gridded fabric...
... And the exterior of the bag is this beautiful butterfly print:
This is (one of) Denise's next project(s), shown here with the fabrics she purchased recently at Cary Quilting Company:
Lisa was showing Denise the Minecraft quilt she made for her niece a few years ago, so I snapped a picture for you to see:
Lisa, with the most recent block made for her Shop Hop Quilt:
On to another block:
Tiffany is working on closing up her mini pin cushions...
... One for Denise...
... And one for Joy:
Joy put hers to work right away:
Denise brought this for her "sit upon" quilt:
The back of the quilt that her mother purchased for her:
Patty finished a Bowl Cozy for the upcoming Nurse's Day:
Wow! Look at this incredible art quilt:
All of the quilters flocked to take a closer look:
Britt brought her niece's quilt in case there was time to baste:
Her focus was adding quilting on her Bot Garden quilt...
... Depicting the 2019 Wildflower of the Year, narrow-leafed mountain mint, Pycnanthemum tenuifolium:
Patty worked on finishing a second Bowl Cozy:
A couple of painters joined the artist:
The "Cookie Patrol" was out in full force:
What happened to my scrap basket? It's been ransacked:
Denis is making progress on her Sew Together Bag:
It's quite an intriguing process:
Next up, Denise adds the wedge pieces:
Patty's busy cutting out Doggie Advent Trees...
... Out of sparkly felt, then adds pockets later:
One cookie cart. Loaded:
The cookie patrol is packing the final bags of cookies:
Pour over paint projects, sitting out to dry:
Oh! I absolutely LOVE this project bag:
UFO complete!! Denise's Cowboy Thread Catcher is DONE:
... And a glimpse of how the lining works with the binding:
Tiffany completed the top of her Hawaii quilt:
It's ORANGE, so it gets another shot (at a decent picture):
All of the "wings" have been attached to the Sew Together Bag:
Tiffany switches gears and wonders why she wasn't working on this all along. If she had, she might have finished the night with a top:
Joy moves on to another project. After "squaring up" the quilt, she applies binding to the front of her client's quilt, preparing it for hand stitching once it has been returned:
Patty switched gears, too. Folding boxes will keep her busy until it's time for her to go home:
Carol is here and happy to be done with her gardening for today:
She's working on cutting out a new quilt:
Do you think she'll notice if I take this hedgehog fabric? Cute:
This is another of Denise's NEXT projects:
Joy had MORE ripping to do on her Pecking Order quilt:
This one is better, but STILL not what he was hoping to achieve:
Until next time...
Finishing is FUN!!!
Wow! Super productive people with lots of fun and gorgeous projects!
