ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC19 - Week 19

Welcome to Week 19 of the 2019 Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  If YOU haven't heard of the RSC, you may want to visit Angela over at her So Scrappy blog.

SUNDAY - Fiesta Cinco de Mayo!!  I woke up early and spent the morning cozied up with bits of ORANGE (for the RSC) in my quilt, Joyous Wonky Stars by Handwrought Quilts:

This is me @ Tanger Outlets, running a quick errand for my MIL.  (It's right on the way.)  Quick being the operative word!  I arrived back at the car to find my driver (aka, DH) missing.  How happy do I look to be standing our in the rain?  NOT very!!  Fortunately for him, I thought to grab my umbrella when he dropped me off to go look for parking in the designated area:

We traveled to GBO to visit my MIL for an early Mother's Day get together, as she will be away this weekend.  Shades of ORANGE were found in her garden...

... As well as hints of ORANGE, too:

MONDAY - It was a day.  A day that was followed by loading the back of KD's quilt (and batting) on the frame... Finally!!  Now, to figure out the best way to load the top on a two-sided quilt.  Below, a shot of the belly of the beast... the quilt back UNDER the frame:

TUESDAY - Happy Occasion Day!!  It involved dinner out with my DH @ Taziki's and dessert to take home from The Cheesecake Factory.  Yum!!

WEDNESDAY - I was able to attend Knit Group this morning and squeezed in a polish change after lunch.  ORANGE is the RSC Color of the Month, so I chose a cheerful shade, as opposed to the bright and obnoxious choice:

Before dinner, I released a new Wonderful Wednesday post.  Check it out!!  It includes my most recent UFO Club finish.

My (nuclear) family was home tonight.  We went out to celebrate a graduation with dinner for DS1's apartment-mate.

THURSDAY - My weekly Quilt Group met this morning.  I was able to attend.  Members then took a field trip to G's Quilt and Craft Retreat:

It was a lovely space and my quilt group will be able to use the space for a Sew Day when the retreat center isn't booked.

FRIDAY - The weekend has arrived.  I'm SEW glad!!!  It felt like a REALLY LONG week.  Last night/this morning only exacerbated the issue, as I woke at 4 AM and couldn't go back to sleep.  :o((

On the plus side... I was up, dressed, and had thrown in a load of laundry by 5:30 AM.  That NEVER happens!!  I also managed to release a NEW Design Floor Friday post.

Spoiler alert:  It's all about ANOTHER finish for the Spring 2019 (Ravelry) UFO Club.  (There are little bits of ORANGE in it, too.)

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day over on Angela's So Scrappy blog.  I'll visit the RSC Quilters later today, as I'm on my way to my Monthly Quilt Bee.

Here's some ORANGE inspiration:

It's the best I can do, with the week I've had.  I'm sure some of you can relate.

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!!

  6. What a lovely colorful star. There is the month's color in place on the nails. Very good! :-)

  7. You look gorgeous even in the rain. I love your orange nail polish. Orange you glad they had that color? Woohoo--date night. Sounds like romance and sweet desserts were devine.

The Joyous Wonky Stars quilts looks so soft and cozy. Love that star!

I love quilts with pieced backs...especially when I am done quilting them. Hopefully the customer didn't have it so there is a border around the back. Those get tricky to match up. Have a wonderful week.

  9. you're so funny! I love your posts, and orange nails. That's commitment my friend! The iris are so very beautiful, love the selfie angle too. Hey, we got snow twice this week, instead of rain. Snow in May. Apparently not unusual in CO, who knew? LeeAnna

  10. Are you going to paint your nails in the RSC color every month? Power to you, girlfriend. That star is gorgeous. Love the wonkiness. Gosh, I hate waiting. And in the rain - that would have been a recipe for a major uproar in our household. You seem much more forgiving.
