ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC22 - Week 10

Welcome to Week 10 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week, I'm working on my YELLOW/GOLD scraps, as challenge hostess Angela suggested when the month began.

Have a look...

SUNDAY - This week's Project QUILTING post went live today.  You can find it HERE.

After that was taken care of (along with a phone call to Knittingsuek), I went in search of a UFO to work on during the "off week" and came up with this one:

I would LOVE to finish that project before Spring is over!  Speaking of Spring...

The photo above is the view from upstairs. Oh! LOOK at the Wordle from today:

MONDAY - Today was the day that I finally got the borders attached to my Rainbow, Baby! quilt for my great niece:

It was also the day that I found my missing blocks for this year's H2H quilt...

And...

It was the day that I went to the post office to mail off a very important package:

TUESDAY - A sad day for this Duke fan...  I hadn't been paying attention to the schedule (since it's Project QUILTING season.)  My coworker was kind enough to come over to my office to razz me about this past weekend's game. I had to look it up on the computer...

They lost to hometown rival UNC in Coach K's LAST home game before retirement, but at this point,  there is still hope for the ACC Tournament:

WEDNESDAY - While waiting for my Zoom call, I stitched up the last few blocks of my Quarter Log Cabin quilt...

And squared up the very last block:

During the call with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color...

We discussed possibilities for setting triangles. I remembered this commission quilt off-cut that I though might work. Auditioning other possibilities will wait for another day:

THURSDAY - My Weekly Quilt Bee actually met in person today... Without me, of course.

The good news is that I finally (10 days into the month!) remembered to pack one of my YELLOW/GOLD mug rugs to enjoy during working hours:

This was an off-cut from my friend Maggie that I quilted up a couple years ago or so.

This afternoon, the ACC basketball tournament began. I could have checked it live, but went home early and fell into the final chapters of this captivating book:

FRIDAY - Several members of my ZoomKNIT group took a road trip to the Carolina Fiber Festival today... Without me!!  :o((

I had a long overdue medical appointment this morning and then I went shopping for some new shoes.  This is the pair I would have bought, if they had them in my size:

This afternoon, I spotted some YELLOW/GOLD at the thrift store:

I couldn't resist stopping by on the way to the eye doctor:

Once I was done there (and at the optician's), I met up with my friend Tracy at Target:

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week. You will have to look closely, but this week I colored in the YELLOW/GOLD section of my Pas De Deux planning sheet from Rachel @ Stitched in Color:

It's my main (bare bones) project for the year. I figured that I could find time for taking out the colored pencils, if I could find time for nothing else. No stress of finding time to sew more blocks to add to my collections. No pressure.  Simply preparing for some other year's trip through the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. A chance to be kind to myself while still enjoying the company of my RSC Quilter friends.

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!

  5. What a lovely quilt to be working on during off week. Sorry your favourite team lost. I never thought of changing my mug rug at work each month, well, unless it's for washing it. I'll have to make a few more and switch them every month. Love, love, love the M&M mug ... in yellow too! I'll keep an eye open for that book as I'm running out of good reading material and Spring is near ... well it'll get here eventually. Enjoy your beautiful blooming tree. ;^)

  10. Yay on the H2H quilt blocks! Thank you for that glimpse of spring, I have yet to see any hints of spring here in north Texas. Now you're making me want to go to the thrift store. I couldn't go with you, I'd have way too much fun. ;)
