The 100 Day Project - #100Days100ThingsDecluttered - Week 3

Welcome to Week 3 of the #100Days100ThingsDecluttered new mini-series here on The Joyful Quilter!!  I started The 100 Day Project on February 18th.  I'm still shocked that I finally committed to it.  It's particularly popular on Instagram.  I have been hesitant to participate before now.  I'll be releasing weekly updates for those of you who might be interested in seeing what goes out the door.

What's your project, again, Joyful???

I signed up with a different idea in mind than most.  You can read about it HERE.  That link will tell you all about my project.

The gist of my focus...

Decluttering my home and studio in an effort to free up space for MORE creativity.

Here's my progress for Week Three:

2 plastic clothes hangers (don't really fit my clothes very well)
3 sleeveless crop tops (unworn the past 2 summers & I probably shouldn't wear at my age!)
2 cones of sewing thread (dry rotted)
1 pottery vase
2 lamps (that I've had for more than a year to do SOMETHING with, but haven't)
1 glass vase
2 tiny coffee cups
1 pair of kitchen tongs (that feel too flimsy to use)

Week 3 Total: 14/100

Updated Project Total: 45/100

Thank you to those of you who encouraged me in my decluttering efforts last week!  I appreciate your kind comments and your willingness to cheer me along.  Mari @ The Academic Quilter said, "Stop it Joy, you're inspiring me! :) Great progress so far!"  I replied with the following... "LOL!! Jump IN, Mari!!! It doesn't HAVE to be 100 days OR 100 items. More than zero is enough to lighten the load a little bit!"

That's it for this time...
Come back next week to see what goes in the box during the next 7 days.

  1. I'm with Mari, stop it, you're inspiring me! I'm actually thinking about freeing old, ugly fabric from my sewing space.....something I just haven't been able to do before, because FABRIC!

  5. Great progress Joy! Keep it up! Last week I discovered a box with note papers. Most of it quilt related and I don't even remember what most of it was about and why I had kept it. Happy to say 3/4 of it are trashed! It's a small beginning! :)
