ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC 22 - Week 27

Welcome to Week 27 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week was a blur.  Closing out the 2nd quarter and starting the 3rd took time away from... everything else.  Would you believe that I didn't even START today's post until this afternoon?!?!

Let's got to the videotape...

Oh, wait!  I guess I'm showing my age with that comment, aren't I?  What I meant to say was for you to wait here while I check my phone photos (so that I can recreate the week.)

SUNDAY - The week started with a Zoom call to Knittingsuek...

... And quickly reverted to paper scraps and art journaling:

MONDAY - Wordle in three tries:

The studio gallery wire was dressed for the 4th of July holiday:

TUESDAY - I enjoyed my scrappy PURPLE mug rug, along with my big ole cup of tea before work this morning:

WEDNESDAY - Today's prompt for the ICAD Challenge was MYSTERIOUS and it was certainly a challenge to figure out what to do.  I started out doing what is called "activating the page" by scribbling with the fine point no-smear Sharpie that I found.  Some painted paper, a quote and a doodle finished off my entry:

This afternoon, I enjoyed my weekly Zoom with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color:

After dinner, look what I found!!  The beetles left one single rose bud unharmed:

THURSDAY - What a beautiful welcome to the work day...

... But when I got home this afternoon, this greeted me... 100 degrees... in the SHADE:

This page was added to the back of my Junk Journal today.  I've added a section for the Fodder Challenge with @willa.wanders and @tiffanysimplysharpe.  Day 2's class was about gelli printing with homemade stencils and masks - not the fabric kind.  I used some of @drewsteinbrecher shapes, but cut them from my stash of painted papers and glued them on the page since I don't have a gel plate:

FRIDAY - Day 3 of the Fodder Challenge yielded this page in my "altered magazine" journal, thanks to a Study of Shapes lesson with @juliehamiltoncreative.  I drew the black and white images during the class and later added the colorful bits, along with some extra doodles for added interest:

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  Won't you join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week?  From what I understand, they've been having some scrappy PURPLE fun!  I've been too busy playing with paper this week, as evidenced by today's entry for Junk Journal July.  The WALLPAPER prompt found me fussy cutting the last remaining chunk of a much-loved old border:

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!

  4. Show-off! (ha!) Of COURSE you would get Wordle in three tries. Four for me. (sigh) Your week certainly has been full. And you work too. I don't know how you do it all.

  5. I love the Fodder Challenge classes! You’ve found a great way to adapt the Gelli printing class to what works for you and it looks great! Your shapes piece also is inspiring.

  6. It's interesting to see how your creativity flows easily from yarn to fabric to paper/paint. What fun! Those horrible temps give us great excuses to stay inside and create! That's my plan for today when we see that high temp again.

  7. I don't remember sever being one of my Wordle words this week. But then, if it was on Monday, I may have forgotten it already. You're having way too much fun playing with paper. Your fabric scraps are getting jealous.

  8. So maybe no purple but still a productive week all in all. Love the beautiful, surviving rose! Not a fan of rose-chomping Japanese beetles.
