Welcome to Week 30 of The Rainbow Scrap Challenge!! This month, our hostess called for working with our PURPLE scraps. I'm here to share what I did this week. Did it involve scrap sewing?
Read on to see...
SUNDAY - I began the week with a Zoom call to Knittingsuek:
During the afternoon, I put together a journal for the Flowers Magic Challenge:
Here's where the day took a wrong turn:
Don't worry! Even though the hit was nearly "head on", and the airbag deployed, DS2 came out relatively unscathed. The car? Not so much!
MONDAY - Work... NOT!! (My job-share partner was just getting out of her car when I showed up.) In light of the events of yesterday afternoon, I completely neglected my weekly calendar update. Oh, well! That allowed time for errands and made it such that I was available to take DS2 to Urgent Care for the (unseen) injuries sustained in the accident.
Here is the first lesson in the Drawing Workshop that I'm doing with @judywoods_artist and @nicolabennettart. We were tasked with making marks based on onomatopoeia words:
TUESDAY - Chores, phone calls, and art-ing occupied my day. Tonight, I spent some time with my Monthly Evening Quilt Bee:
Afterwards, I caught up on the Flowers Magic lesson with @camilagarciaart, opting to only do the drawing portion. I wasn't in the mood to do a collage:
WEDNESDAY - Work... and a really bad Wordle day. :o((
This afternoon made up for it with a fun Zoom with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color:
THURSDAY - The Guest Blogger(s)
Work was followed by a quick stop at the grocery store and a bit of ICAD art-ing before dinner:
Knit Group??? For approximately 30 minutes! What did I see while there? One of my Custom Quilted Scrap Baskets:
Why such a hasty departure, Joyful???
Apparently, I was scheduled to work, but no one mentioned it. And... We KNOW it wasn't written on my calendar this week! Sigh... This required some extra art-ing when I got home:
A wild and crazy page using the GEOMETRIC prompt for Junk Journal July with @megjournals.
SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge! I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week. Every quilt has a story and I'm enjoying the PURPLE scrappy goodness of being curled up with this one:
I'm excited to discover what my ORANGE scrap basket holds for next month! Angela announced it in today's post as the Color of the Month for August.
Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!
Hopefully your son has no lasting injuries to deal with. That is scary! Don't you hate it when work gets in the way of creative fun? I had to work part of this week too, but It's my "fun money" to spend of whatever I want.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about DS's car accident! That will change your week. Hope he is doing okay. It's fun to see all your paper art through the week!
ReplyDeleteFabulous scrappy wonky star block. It has personality.
ReplyDeleteGlad your son was okay. Car crashes are scary! Work definitely gets in the way of creative fun. I'm glad your schedule worked out in the end. I do like your purple scrap projects.--TerryK
ReplyDeleteOh no! I hope DS2 is ok and he is able to get another ride without too much hastle. Bummer on the work schedule issue. Hope this week goes smoother and you have a little more creative play time.
ReplyDeleteOh my! A busy week, of course, but I hope your son is okay and that the car will be, too. Also, how can it be week 30 already?
ReplyDeleteLove to see your journaling! The star block is really cool-there's a name for it, I know, but it won't come to me tonight! lol
ReplyDeleteThat sounded like a wild & wooly week for you. I hope you can catch your breath this week. That work stuff can really cramp your plans. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about DS's car! 😕 Glad to read he's okay though!
