ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC22 - Week 19

Welcome to Week 19 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week I was thanking my lucky stars that I have a template I can pop in for a post.  I've been super busy in the studio and on Friday morning, I faced the horror of a blank page!!  Many of you know that's not how I operate here at the Joyful Quilter blog.

Let's try to recreate the week, shall we...

SUNDAY - Before I get into what took place today, I've got two things to share:

First, some of you might have noticed that I'm TWO WEEKS behind on commenting about your RSC posts.  My (profuse) apologies!!  I visited as many posts as I possibly could, but catching up probably won't happen at this point.  Many of you also got radio silence after leaving comments on my posts.  You KNOW that's not my style!  It makes me sad, but time and mental energy just didn't give me a chance to get back to everyone.  (Anyone?!)  I'm hoping all of you will forgive me.  (Thanks in advance for that!)  I'm hoping to be back to my regularly chatty self next month.

Next, I'll briefly share what kept me away yesterday.  My Monthly Quilt Bee had a (Virtual) Work Day:

It was a revolving door of visitors from the morning (shown above) into the afternoon.  Everyone was working on a project, but I was so busy that I didn't take many photos.  Here is the afternoon crew:

They are having a Sit and Stitch next weekend, but I've got a project (or two) on a deadline and can't afford spending the day away.  :o((

That brings us to what actually happened on Sunday...

DS1 was visiting the studio today.  We chatted while I worked on this journal page...

Look, RSC Quilters!  Sage GREEN as a nod to the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

And prepared my H2H quilt back for loading on the longarm:

MONDAY - Shades of GREEN with my morning cup of tea:

Thanks, Diane!!  I'm enjoying BOTH sides of the mug rug you made.  :o))

Between other projects, I fit in a little bit of Forest GREEN scrappy sewing:

TUESDAY - Whew!  (Finally) Layered up the LAST block on the SIL T-Quilt:

WEDNESDAY - There was a Wonderful Wednesday post in my head, but it didn't make its way onto the page.  I did take time to Zoom with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color:

THURSDAY - ZoomBEE is now a thing of the past.  Members of my Weekly Quilt Group are back to meeting in person.  I worked today, so I wasn't able to attend.

Look closely to find the Forest GREEN bits in the String quilt shown above.

The stitch regulator was having a hissy fit last night.  My in-house maintenance tech was called in to adjust the encoder wheels on the longarm.  (Thanks for the service call, DH!!His assistance made it possible for me to proceed from here.

FRIDAY - ZoomKNIT seems to have fizzled out, too.  Theoretically, I have the day off and could join them this morning.  Realistically, that won't be happening.  I'm in project hyperdrive!  Very little time for anything outside the four walls of my studio.

I did take a few minutes to play with today's journal prompt:

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week.  I'll post the direct link later today.

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!

  3. Glad the encoders started working right! No worries...we are here and all get busy so we understand! :)

  4. This is Judy at BusyHandsAreHappyHands. I can only be anonymous, it seems. Commenting on my iPad has become nearly impossible! So many difficulties. So now I must go to my Mac! That’s not as conducive to sitting in my chair with my morning coffee! I know, such a “first world problem”

  5. this is how it is when you are enthused about new artforms...they take up lots of time and attention. It's okay for you to explore and take time away from us... we like it when you're happy and having fun!

  6. No worries! We all have days(months!) like that with too many projects and not enough hours in the day. Hope you are plugging away at the deadline things. You can do it!

  7. We know you'll be back putting in your two cents as soon as time and energy (of which you normally have a lot) allows. Take a deep breath and carry on.

  8. Sorry things are getting a bit overwhelming for you, sometimes it's like that, isnt it. Just keep on keeping on, have a cuppa, sit down to read about everyone on RSC, and you will feel much more relaxed!

  9. You are making such great progress on our t-shirt quilt. It looks fabulous! Glad you were able to get the regulator working again. Too stressful to do it manually!
