SUNDAY - No post, as I am fully immersed in a commission quilt. There will be something to share soon, though. Scrappy and bright. A true delight.
Just not this week.
MONDAY - Mini Monday (Click the link to go to today's post.)
Tonight was Quilt Guild and here I am at home...
Waiting for the Decisions, Decisions program by Carole @ From My Carolina Home to begin:
I muted myself during the program and worked on sewing these shirts into columns:
I suppose the last of the roses from our recent celebration occasion are past their prime:
TUESDAY - I spent a little time with a different kind of GREEN scraps this morning:
I sewed the fusible stabilizer release paper (and a bit of the stabilizer itself) into today's journal page:
The scrap of fabric on the righthand page inspired the color combination.
And LOOK... There's Forest GREEN in it!
WEDNESDAY - Wonderful Wednesday (Click the link to go to today's post.)
Zoom with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color:
During our call, I worked on the final block for the GrandTquilt:
THURSDAY - ZoomBEE is no more and it seems that I will have to find something else to talk about on Thursdays. Oh, bother! Maybe something interesting will happen at work today. My rose bush out front is really putting on a show! Flowers, buds, and more coming:
I tried some new-to-me techniques on today's journal page:
There's a bit of GREEN on the page, RSC Quilter friends!
With the final column sewn into the quilt, I loaded the frame and got to work:
Sage/Forest GREEN scrappy progress. The binding has been cut and prepared. Now, I just need to steal a moment to apply it and stitch it down:
SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge! I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week. I'll get there eventually...
Maybe not today, though. I've got to finish that quilt before the thunderstorms arrive.
Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!
Though I'm sure you miss your Zoom groups, on the positive side it means that these people are feeling comfortable meeting in person again, and that's a wonderful thing! We're long overdue to have life feeling "back to normal," and the ability to talk in person can't be underappreciated. Thankfully, all my groups are back to in-person, and I love that! But it's also nice to have access to virtual activities with special speakers, and workshops with instructors who live a long distance away.
ReplyDeleteYour roses are really beautiful, Joy! Did they come with the new house? I used to grow roses, but they're long gone... Hope you have a chance to finish up that commission quilt today!
ReplyDeletestopped by to see what your week was like, haven't heard of decisions decisions...
ReplyDeleteBusy week! I really like your journal pages. I'm curious on the decisions, decisions talk as well. I know the making a decision on a quilt can just stop it in it's tracks really quickly. Hope you get some successful sewing in this weekend before the storms.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, your roses are so pretty! I need to catch up on your journal project. It looks very interesting!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you've had a busy week, but then I think most of your weeks are pretty packed! I love that green, leafy fabric in your last photo.
ReplyDeleteA bit different kinda week for you but a nice one. I enjoyed the roses--the greens work nicely! I love to glimpse your journal inspiration!
ReplyDeleteYou are one busy, busy girl! Love the roses, so beautiful I can almost smell them ... if only I wasn't still congested with COVID! Hopefully that commission quilt is just about done by now! Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and love the t-shirt quilt. Loving your journal pages. Forest green is one of my most favourite colours.
