ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC20 - Week 45

Welcome to Week 45 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!!  This week saw the start of a new month.  The year is winding down.  Only the neutrals, multi-colored prints, and finishing remain for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

SUNDAY - Yesterday, Bonnie Hunter @ Quiltville released the color selections and yardage requirements for her Grassy Creek Mystery.

Knittingsuek and I did another grocery swap:

It was a gloriously sunny, yet cool day, so we had a enjoyed a little chat out on the driveway.  Thanks for the swap, Sue!

Today, I tackled Mt. Washmore and got into the new Color of the Month for the RSC by prepping this LIGHT Neutral quilt back:

After dinner, I discovered that Kat @ Kat and Cat Quilts had released her November/December Block Drive for Covered in Love which supports end-of-life patients at her East TX hospital.

MONDAY - It was 60* inside the house this morning.  We finally caved and turned on the heater.  Next, I suppose we'll be dragging out the flannel sheets!  (Bye, bye, crisp cool sheets.  I'll miss you!)

I had a lot of computer work to do.  One short post and one long post to write for my Quilt Bee.  After the one, I got a start on the second, but discovered that I had emails waiting for responses and by the time that was done, it was lunchtime.  How does that happen?!?!

Since the second post won't be released today, I decided it was time to head up to the studio.  This quilt wasn't about to load itself:

Once that was done, I took some time to play in my LIGHT Neutral scraps.  I sorted through and found an assortment to begin this month's Quilted Challenge Basket:

TUESDAY - Today, I concentrated on squaring up this LWR quilt...

... And started on quilting my next LWR donation quilt from Maggie.

WEDNESDAY - Zoom Day with LeeAnna.  She and I were both photo challenged today.  Here I am, while waiting for her to join the meeting...

... And here we both are once she arrived:

THURSDAY - I got an early start, but didn't get very far on this LWR quilt, as the thread kept breaking even AFTER changing to a new needle and double-checking the tension:

I had really hoped to deliver it to a quilt bee member to be bound.  You see, my Weekly Quilt Group met at Ella's for a masked/outdoor meeting to welcome our snowbird back for the winter:

Twelve members were present, but I couldn't see what I was doing because of the sun glare.  The photo below serves to emphasize how bad I've become at selfies/us-ies:

Thank you to Ruth S...

... And Dee Dee for bringing fabric scraps for me:

Ruth S. brought a tub of fabrics from Donna in New York:

A feeding frenzy ensued:

Here is my small haul:

Thank you, Donna!!!

FRIDAY -
Another day, another meeting.  ZoomKNIT met this morning.  Cindy introduced her new puppy and left for the vet...

Others joined in afterwards:

One sock complete and it only took a record-breaking three weeks:

Today's errand was to Trader Joe's and a stop at Knittingsuek's to drop off her order.  Silly me!  This is the only photo I got:

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  I'm wondering what the division will be between those who are working with LIGHT Neutrals and those who are playing with Multi-colored Prints.  What do YOU think?  Let's go see!

I got a started on my scraps last night with bits sewn for THREE projects in LIGHT Neutrals:

Here they are sorted out for pressing (and a bit of a better idea of what is what) in the photo below:

Did YOU guess the plan?  That's my mini for the Gallery Wire up at the top.  There's a stack of Crumbs in the middle for this month's Quilted Scrap Basket.  The beginning of November's Kitchen Quilt at the bottom of the photo shown above.

I'm hoping to finish the quilting on the LWR quilt today and pick-up a new client quilt this afternoon.  I'll pop a photo in here, if either of those things actually occur.

Until next time...
Get Scrappy!!!

  2. Light neutrals? Multis? I’m working with DARK scraps for the rest of the year! Haha. The lights always find their way into projects throughout the year and the multis were tamed for use in my Zipper blocks. So darks it is! You had a fun and busy week. I love your energy, girlfriend!!

  3. I really should get out my light neutral strings to finish the string quilt I started in 2019, lol! But, no - squirrelling off into other projects instead... You had a fun and busy week, and I love the scrap feeding frenzy!

  4. Lots of lovely things on the go here. I'm going to go have a look at my neutrals and my multicoloured scraps, not sure if I'll start something to try to finish something.
