ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC18 - Week 15

Welcome to ScrapHappy Saturday!!  It's Week 15 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  HOW did that happen?!?!  I had a fairly slow week on the sewing and quilting front.  Recovery from our road trip took longer than I thought it might.  I'm too old for spending more than 22 hours in the car over a 4 day period! I was thinking happy scrappy YELLOW thoughts during my travels:

SUNDAY - Slept in since I was up WAY too late after the wedding celebration.  In my defense, it was Karaoke Night at our hotel and my SIL was singing!

We did a family brunch in the Riverside Ballroom at the Lambertville Station Restaurant and Inn.  I think we had 5 tables of 4 plus a chair at the end of 3 of those (because my BIL apparently can't count.)

MONDAY - Finally got a look at Block 4 of the Squared Away Sampler designed by Mari of The Academic Quilter with input from Angela over at So Scrappy.

Ut-oh!!  See those lines on the road?  We may be in for some weather of the flake-y variety:

TUESDAY - This photo got left out of last week's post.  Here are my golden toes (drying.)  Love those low-budget toe separators:

WEDNESDAY - Loaded a gift quilt on the frame:

There's even some YELLOW  in there. It's the only bit I've worked with for April's Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  Sorry, Angela!!!

THURSDAY - I gave up after my thread broke about 5 times in the 1st row!!  I was too tired to troubleshoot the problem.  Attempted to take care of that this afternoon.

The culprit:  I have NO idea!!!  It is STILL giving me fits.  :o((

FRIDAY - Talked with my local APQS rep and found that I either have to time my machine or take it in to have it timed.  (I think the culprit was a needle inserted backwards.  Darned older eyes!!)

Amanda Jean of Crazy Mom Quilts finished a fabulous scrappy quilt.  See it HERE.  The following comment really gave me pause:

I love the front of the quilt, but the fun fact is, that it's actually two quilts in one, because I pieced a back from my stash. I used a stack of fabrics that I had bundled together YEARS ago, thinking it would make a cute quilt...you know, someday. Well, after some editing (adding AND subtracting), I have ANOTHER quilt. That's good use of my batting dollar. Hurray! 

SATURDAY - Playing in the YELLOW scraps:

I captured a rainbow earlier this week, sadly no put of gold at the end... just a bunch of clothes to share with friends, sell or donate to The Will of Good:

It's hard to believe that these two (pictured with the quilt I made for the two of them) have been married for a week already:

It's all back to business as usual around here.  I spotted more YELLOW around town:

Now, if I could just SEW something in the Color of the Month!!

Wonderful Wednesday - Clayton Quilting Day

Welcome to the next edition of Wonderful Wednesday!!  Last week, I enjoyed a day of working on projects with 3 members of my Garner/Clayton Quilt Bee.

I didn't bring my machine, so I  stitched up Libby's mystery blocks on Lisa's machine when she went to get her son at school:

Tiffany's on a bag kick:

She completed THREE nesting bags:

Small, medium, and large sizes were created using the Open Wide tutorial:

We're working on getting Henrietta's quilting groove back.  Cutting today:

I finished the binding repairs on Dr. Pete's Wedding Quilt:

Not a minute too soon... the wedding was this past weekend!!!

ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC18 - Week 14

Welcome to Week 14 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  It's an abbrieviated version this week.  Too much to do in order to prepare for aa trip.   Lucky you!!  LOL

SUNDAY - Angela announced the Color of the Month:

WEDNESDAY - Shopping for something to wear on my trip:

YELLOW must be one of the "hot" colors this season:

THURSDAY - Helping a friend and appointment filled my day.

FRIDAY - Travel day. Oh, what a day it was!!  It was filled with traffic, alternate routes, and a minor parking lot incident involving a Major Rental Box Van with an inexperienced driver.  The sum total of which produced a late arrival and an exhausted quilter!!

SATURDAY - Party!!  Oh, and it's LINK PARTY day, too.  My focus is on the family wedding that we are attending.  I'll catch up with everyone early next week.

Scrap Attack Tuesday - March Mission Accomplished

Welcome to another edition of Scrap Attack Tuesday Wednesday!!  My goals for the year were written up in THIS POST.  March was a crazy month filled with extra hours away from my studio, a wedding quilt to complete, and a commission quilt demanding additional attention.  Even so, it was my goal to accomplish SOMETHING with my fabric scraps, thanks to the encouragement from Sarah and the Scrap Attack Challenge!

Nice spring-y colors.  Look!  There's even some LIGHT GREEN for the RSC.

I even got a head start on April's Color of the Month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  See those YELLOW bits?  Color me happy.  :o))

Those are the scraps from Sandy.  (Thanks again!!)  I've made a Quilted Yarn Bowl out of them, but realized that I'm just not done with them yet.  There are MORE items waiting to be made from Sandy's cast offs.  SEW much more!!  :o))

Because I've also got a UFO to complete before the beginning of April.  I can't very well attend a family wedding without bringing a quilt along for the gift!!!  What kind of aunt would that make me?!  Especially, when the bride and groom requested one.

Mystery Monday - The Reveal and a Bonus

Welcome to the next edition on Mystery Monday!!  I feel like I missed a week.  I guess it was because my mind was on other things during the last 7 days.

You will find Libby's Mystery top in THIS POST.  Fair warning... It will take your breath away!!  I can't WAIT to see the completed quilt.  It's gorgeous and I want to make one JUST like hers!!

I was limited by my fabric selection.  Although, I suppose I could used it as a jumping off point.  Maybe I can figure something out...
