Calling all AQUA/ TEAL/ TURQUOISE fans! Here is this month's inspiration photo:
No blog? No problem, you will be able to have your scrappy table runners/toppers hosted here on The Joyful Quilter. Just pop me an email with your name/state and a photo of your completed project and I will add it to a follow-up post.
From our participants...
Check out this idea from Jo @ Butterz!! She used some of her skinny scraps to make this colorful placemat. The mind blowing part about it is this is no ordinary placemat! There's a zippered cutlery pocket included, as shown below:
When I asked about how she made her placemat, Jo was kind enough to offer some instructions and a few photos of the process she used. Find that mini tutorial HERE. Thank you for sharing with us, Jo!
Nann is back with a couple more links from All People Quilt. 50+ FREE Table Runner Patterns and Our Best Table Toppers.I found this Quilt as You Go Placemat video at All People Quilt. It shows the steps that I took for my January runner:
Got favorites???
Email me , if you have a "go to" runner or topper pattern. I'll add it to a future post. Thanks!
Where's the table covering, Joyful???
Life got in the way this month. This is as far as I got before the move and I haven't made progress since:
I've got the binding ready to go on, but that won't happen before this post goes live.
Why not, Joyful???
I haven't been able to locate the box/bag/bin my project was housed in. :o((
I'll try to do better in September and will add the completed photo here as soon as I apply the binding that came straight out of the Needleb's scrap stash.

It's time to add your own projects to the Table Scraps Link Party below!! Here's hoping that YOU had better luck on finishing up your runner/topper/placemat, etc.
Until next time...
It's a Cover Up!!!
My latest one is almost finished. It was literally made with scraps from a tabletop full of scraps that we were offered to work with in a workshop. I am sewing the binding by hand - and being slow with it. LOL. Hopefully I will get back in time to post it to the linky.
ReplyDeleteI wonder what has kept you away from sewing this month, lol! You're so great to put the linky up for us anyway, Joy. Hope things are going well!
ReplyDeleteha! I think you get a pass for this month--it's not like you were just sitting around! lol Pretty placemats!
ReplyDeleteWell, I didn't move house AND get the old house ready for sale, and I didn't finish my Table Scraps (for the 2nd month in a row, oh, the horror). I have the top finished and hope to complete it by Monday. We shall see.

I knew there was something I needed to work on yesterday! Maybe I can get my top quilted and bound today? Dinner is in the crock pot - corned beef so that frees up some time tonight =)
ReplyDeleteI made it, Joy!!
ReplyDeleteLove the old aqua phone! I always wanted a phone like that, but we only had black or beige. Nice blue runner! Hope everything is going well with unpacking, but it does seem to take forever. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLook at all those pretty table toppers. Such a great use of scraps. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteI'm not done with my turquoise table runner either. So I'll try to remember to link up next month. I'd say you have your hands full so don't stress the runner. It'll get done when you have time! (and you find the fabric your looking for!)
