ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC19 - Week 7

Welcome to Week 7 of the 2019 Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  While I was hoping to spend some time with my YELLOW scraps this week, I got pulled in all different directions.

Care to see what kept me busy?  If so, read on...

SUNDAY - A discussion thread on Ravelry's Quilters Knitting Group had me wondering about a lighter version of a portable pressing surface.

I found the following tutorial links on YouTube:

Vanessa @ The Crafy Gemini uses an old wooden puzzle as a base, which really appealed to my love of thrifting.
Rob @ Man Sewing uses 3 empty fabric bolts for a folding base, which was a cool way to get a larger pressing surface, but is easier to carry.
Misty and Heidi @ Missouri Star Quilt Company used plywood for a custom footed base.  They added drawer pulls to bring the board off the surface of the table.  (I found this one extremely annoying.)

Later in the day, I revisited an original design of mine, adding a touch of YELLOW for this month's Rainbow Scrap Challenge:

I'm hoping to recreate the entire scene in the coming days.  The new (improved?) version will be for my stop (2/20/19) on Carol's  Show Your Wings Blog Hop at Just Let Me Quilt, February 18th through the 22nd.

MONDAY - I'm almost showed up for Quilt Guild an entire WEEK early!!  I'm not sure how I got the date wrong, but I'm SEW grateful that I thought to check with a friend (who assured me that the meeting was on our regular day.)

I'm signed up for the All About Strings Blog Hop coming in March from Carla at Creatin' in the Sticks.

TUESDAY - Evening Quilt Bee met tonight.  I shared the Coordinating Quilted Set that I recently completed:

When I got home, I blasted through the fruits of this evening's labor, as I chatted with my quilting friends:

WEDNESDAY - Tonight is was supposed to be Girls Night Out.  I can't WAIT to see who shows up this month spent the evening sewing my Bonus HSTs from my Pecking Order Quilt!  Here they are all stacked up and ready to meet the blade of my rotary cutter:

While visiting one of my online friends, I was reminded that Bonnie Hunter had the final Good Fortune Link-up.  Thanks, Kathy!  She's got lots of great projects on the go.  She shared them in her most recent WIP Wednesday post.  Check them out, if you've got a moment.

THURSDAY - I'm back to missing most meetings of my Weekly Quilt Group.  :o((

Happy Valentine's Day to all of my quilting friends:

Keys to my Heart, 8" x 10", original design

This evening, I worked on the next step of my Altered Rainbow Commission Basket.  I stitched pairs of pairs together.  The photo below shows the pressing and trimming that I took care of later:

Oh, look!  It's nearly the middle of the month and I finally painted my nails YELLOW!  I'm also working with some YELLOW fabric scraps for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  Yay!!!

FRIDAY - It's time for Friday Night Sew-In!!!  Do you know what that means?  I thought that I would be working on my neice's T-Quilt and seriously hoping to get the last two (technically, the first two!) columns together and figure out where to go from here.  When push came to shove, I decided to work on a bunch of little projects instead.  The main one involve cutting apart these darling little HSTs that will make the body of a mug rug for a dear friend:

See Thursday's photo for the preview of what also took place.
SATURDAY - Here, ye!  Here, ye!  It's that time of the week.  Time for Angela's LINK PARTY over on the So Scrappy blog!  Head over to see what YELLOW goodness the other RSC Quilters have been up to this week.

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!!

  8. You get so much done in a week! Someday I am going to try less traditional nail colors. Purple is as wild as I have done so far.
