Wonderful Wednesday - The (Virtual) Sew Day

Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday!!  My Monthly Quilt Bee had a Sew Day this past weekend.  A virtual event, of course.  Special thanks to Britt for coordinating and to Kirsten for setting up the Zoom time!!  A fun time was had by all.

Group Photos...

The early crowd:

The afternoon crowd:

My apologies to the midday crowd.  I was sew excited to be stitching that I forgot about taking photos!

The work and play day...

... Found me up in my new studio ready to do some sort of quilty task:

Had planned to do some organizing during the meeting, but spotted some HSTs ready for trimming:

Once the HSTs were trimmed, I made sure they were all in the right place:

Then I stacked them up...

... And started sewing:

By the end of the day (not the group sewing session) I had a completed quilt top:

This post wouldn't be complete without a shoutout to my friend Sfgwife.  She was kind enough to pawn off gift these offcut HSTs (and more!) to me last year.  I worked on them at one of our last events, too.  What a thrill to finally have this put together!

Until next time...
BEE inspired!!!

  1. What a fun day! And I love the quilt top.~Jeanne

  2. You made great progress. Trimming HSTs is not one of my favorite tasks. Nicely done!

  3. Yay! Sewing in your new studio!!!! Your mini looks really sweet and it's an adorable keepsake from your sewing buddy.

  4. I know you're happy to finally be functioning again.

  5. Yay for getting back on track. If you balance some sorting/organizing with some sewing/quilting, you'll make progress on both.

  6. How marvelous it must have felt to begin stitching in a new studio! How great your newly finished quilt top looks! I love being inspired by designs made with half square triangles.

  7. Ah Joyful, you really do have a 100 watt smile!
Look at all those HST's so perfectly cut and sewn!

  8. Your top looks awesome!! what a fun day for you! Have a safe weekend!

  9. Nice layout for the hst's--and unwanted ones at that! Good job!
