ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC17 - Week 23

Welcome to Week 23 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week was far from the norm.  There's no Knit Group and no quilting with Needbleb.  I'm headed out of town.

SUNDAY - This afternoon we were at a party.  DH is one of the mentors for Team 587, so naturally, we were invited to the Robotics End-of-the-Year Party.  I often go (just for the grilled pineapple!), but this year, I was there to serve another purpose.  Read more about that in my Wonderful Wednesday post.

Of course, I brought a quilt along for the ride...

Look closely. There's YELLOW in there!!

... To Charlotte and a conference:

Not mine!!  I went along for a mini-vacation!!!

MONDAY - The weather was gray and cloudy.  I scrapped my plans to drive to Mary Jo's Cloth Store in favor of a trip down to the spa for a (long overdue) massage.  Bliss!!

I did follow that up with a quick look around We're Sew Creative.  I bought fabric for a funky new skirt:

TUESDAY - I followed up yesterday's massage with my very first facial.  Delightful!!

When I got back to the room, I found that Crazy Mom Quilts has started a QAL for the June quilt in her new book.  What FUN!!! The BEST part??  YOU can join in, too!!  The instructions for Week 1 are about fabric selection, so there's still time for you to "catch up."  Amanda Jean will be posting directions for the quilt right on the blog.

Bowling at Dave & Buster's was on the agenda for the evening:

WEDNESDAY - Traveled home once the last session of the conference wrapped up.  After a stop at Sonny's BBQ.  YUM!!  I managed to get some "ghost knitting" done before lunch:

YELLOW will play a role in the Rainbow neck warmer!!!  Pattern coming soon from Threebagsfulled on Ravelry.

Upon my return home, I discovered that Alycia  announce that she will be hosting a QOV Mystery on her BLOG, as well as on the Mystery Group.  I'm excited about this.  Want to join in??  The mystery will begin on July 5th.

I also posted another edition of Wonderful Wednesday.  If you haven't seen it, check it out HERE.  The last photo gives you an idea of just how big the quilt actually is!!

THURSDAY - A large portion of this long day was spent under a bridge with these little explorers:

FRIDAY - A short day was filled with exploring a new section of the neighborhood creek.

Almost forgot to mention that Kevin the Quilter will be hosting an online Scrap Club.  I'm SEW excited!!  His new mystery is called Sapphire Stars.  Go check out the info HERE, if you are interested.

SATURDAY - Looking forward to catching up on what the RSC Quilters have been doing this week (while I was away.)  My garden gave a nod to June's Color of the Month:

A beautiful butter yellow day lily with a bright, bold center is blooming this week.  For more YELLOW head over to Angela's LINK PARTY.  She keeps us working on our scraps, one color at a time.  (Well, mostly one color at a time.)

Until next time...
Get Scrappy!!!

  4. A massage and a facial, now that's how one should always take care of herself. (A little bit jealous here) :^) Ghost knitting? Now, I'm curious. Enjoy! ;^)

  8. You are way to busy! Of course, I had my days of young explorers, practice pickups, Friday football, and goodness knows what else. Then come college days and weddings and grandies. It's all sort of a blur now. Getting a massage and facial (add the pedi and mani) is smart medicine!

  10. Thank you for stopping by my RSC post for yellow especially when you have such a busy life. Looks like a fun time was had. Sonnys BBQ sounds especially tasty. American style BBQ is trending here Downunder.
