ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC26 - Week 42

Welcome to Week 42 of the 2026 Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week there are lessons to complete, errands to run and a couple of quilt projects that need my attention.  Will October's RSC Color of the Month come into play?

Read on to see what happens...

SUNDAY -  Celebration Day

This morning, I brought out my BROWN (Dark NEUTRAL) Quilted Scrap Basket to sort through for this month's Rainbow Scrap Challenge:

My Weekly Morning Art Zoom at Get Messy found me making another attempt at collage on the gel plate using some black and gray paper scraps:

Dinner at Carmen's Cuban Cafe to celebrate the day with a couple who hadn't yet arrived:

MONDAY - Stay at Home Day

My day began with a Watercolor class with Tammy Kaye.  The painting below still needs some additional greenery between the flowers and the stems:

This week's Library Crawl followed featuring a class from Vanessa Oliver-Lloyd.  This is my interpretation of the lesson presented:

Some quilting followed:

And finally...

I met with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color for our Weekly Zoom Call:

TUESDAY - Art/Errand Day
.
During the Early Explorers hangout, I took another look at the gel printed collage made on Sunday.  You'll have to wait for the result since I didn't manage to finish it this morning.  Now, I'm off to take care of some important errands.

WEDNESDAY - Sew/Art Day

During Midweek Meetup I worked on this painting from the recent Wild Nature taster sessions at Willowing Art.  The mixed media techniques used were presented by artist Cornelia Zelinka-Bodis.  I'm pleased with the completed page in my watercolor journal:

Later I met with my friend Belinda in Maine for our Watercolor Zoom:

Here is the painting inspired by another of the recent Wild Nature taster sessions at Willowing Art.  This is my interpretation of the loose watercolor bridge scene from a lesson by Colleen Kastner called Welcome to the Lake:

THURSDAY - Quilt/Art Day

Weekly Quilt Group met at Ella's.  No photo to share.  I went straight home for a couple of online art lessons.  "Paint This Sunny Day" from Mayad Allos was followed by the "Ocean Waves" lesson from Yana Ivannikova.  No completed paintings were produced, but the first photo in her gallery link is quite similar to the seascape I was attempting.

Later, Britt and I met on Zoom for an ART-venture based on a Wild Nature taster session at Willowing Art.  We thoroughly enjoyed the watercolor techniques used by artist Cornelia Zelinka-Bodis.  The texture made for an interesting piece:

FRIDAY - Knit/Art Day

This morning's Knit Group was held at Beth's house...

During Deandra's Art Zoom after lunch, I circled back to a recent page in my Collage Scraps Journal. Words and a floral focal point completed it nicely:

Tonight while attending my Weekly Evening Art Zoom, I repeated the afternoon's activity with another page by adding a focal image from my paper stash:

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  I hope you will stop by for a visit Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week.  If you are looking for me...

I'll be in the studio quilting on my October UFO Challenge project...

Pieced by my friend Diane H.

AFTER I spent some time with my artsy friends, that is!  Here is the page I created during the Midmonth Gathering at Get Messy with abstract artist Norma Chung:

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!!
