ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC26 - Week 44

Welcome to Week 44 of the 2026 Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week is a mixed bag of art, errands, and meetings.  Will there be time for Angela's chosen Color of the Month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge???  If so, these two are prime targets:

Read on to see what happens...

SUNDAY -  During my Weekly Morning Art Zoom at Get Messy I happily painted the following page for the Circles prompt for the 21 Day Painting Challenge from Sarah Martinez.  It makes my heart sing:

MONDAY - Errand/Art Day

I headed up to the studio right after breakfast to work on Day 9 of #PaintPlay21.  Here is my interpretation of the Plants prompt:

Later, I meant to take in another Free Watercolor Class from Tammy Kaye, but today's lesson didn't interest me.

After lunch, I went back upstairs for this week's Library Crawl at Get Messy.  Today, we was a continuation of last week's class from Barbara Graham.  Here is my resulting journal page:

TUESDAY - Art/Errand Day
.
During the Early Explorers hangout, I did today's Colors in Curves prompt for #PaintPlay21:

Afterwards I painted last week's tutorial from Tammy Kaye.  Whoops!  I forgot all about it until the replay arrived in my inbox:

Tonight was my Monthly Evening Quilt Bee meeting.  I shared my UFO finish with these lovely quilters.  Please look for the accompanying blog post in tomorrow's entry:

During Midweek Meetup, I intended to worked on Day 11 of The 21 Day Painting Challenge.  No one showed up so I tidied up my table a bit.

No worries...

This afternoon was my Watercolor Zoom with my friend Belinda in Maine...

I caught her up on my recent paintings and here is my interpretation of  the Monochromatic Painting prompt made during our call.  Yellow ochre was my color choice, paired with black and white for this abstract landscape:

THURSDAY - Quilt/Art Day

Today I attended my Weekly Quilt Group at Maggie's.  There's no photo to share, but
here's one of Britt and I after our ART-venture at her house afterwards.  We each worked on a tutorial from Tammy Kaye that I missed earlier this week.  Here is the LINK which produced these floral vases...

And here's a closer look at mine:

After returning home...

I tackled the Non-dominant Hand Floral Painting prompt for #PaintPlay21.  While clumsy to do, I enjoyed the attempt and really like how this turned out:

FRIDAY - Knit/Art Day

This morning's Knit Group was held at Beth's house.  Tracy was away, Stacy had a hair appointment, and I woke up to a sick vertigo attack.  :o((

Before Lunch...

I was feeling better so I layered up this month's Rainbow Scrap Challenge project with a chunk of batting leftover from the making of THREE other quilts.  I'll share a photo when the pins are in.

After lunch...

I headed up to the studio for Deandra's Art Zoom.  Today, I focused on the Pour Painting prompt for the 21 Day Painting Challenge.  This was my interpretation using more water than normal and a variety of inks:

After dinner, I went upstairs for my Weekly Evening Art Zoom.  I painted the following page in my Watercolor Journal, taking inspiration from a recent YouTube video from Denise Love @ 2lilowlsstudio that I watched last night:

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  I hope you will stop by for a visit Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week.  As you saw, I  managed some Light NEUTRAL scrap work this week, but I also had some art to do today...

Day 14's Eyes Closed! prompt for #PaintPlay21 happened during a morning blogging break.  We were instructed to draw our face with our eyes closed and then add paint.  I used the wrong pencil part of my lines didn't show up and some of the ones that did were difficult to follow, but I did the best I could and then filled in hair afterwards:

Afterwards...

This month's RSC Challenge project was pinned and is now waiting for quilting:

It was a full week.

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!!
