SUNDAY - During Weekly Morning Art Zoom, I worked on fussy cutting a flowering plant to add to the garden-themed scene that I started during last night's GM Midmonth Gathering:
MONDAY - Art Day
The day began with a Landscape Watercolor Workshop with Tammy Kaye:
At this week's Library Crawl over on Get Messy, I enjoyed going back in time to the Season of Renewal with the Gel Plate Printed Vintage Books class from Andrew Steinbrecher. In the photo below, you can also see the bunch of flowers I cut yesterday:
I later met with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color for our Weekly Zoom Call , as you might notice, I started the meeting in the kitchen. I apologized profusely, but I needed to get dinner going since I another call tonight:
After dinner, I headed back upstairs for this month's local Quilt Guild meeting featuring Theresa Benson known as the AI Quilter, none of my photos turned out well.
TUESDAY - Stay at Home Day
Chores, paperwork and a bit of YouTube filled my day, but after tea time, I visited with my Tuesday Explorers friends at Get Messy. I finally decided what to do about the CANDELABRA prompt for ICAD. Using an image found on Google, I drew the card below and traced over the pencil lines with my favorite fineliner pen:
WEDNESDAY - Art Day
I saw this Art-O-Mat at the local frame shop. I stopped in on my way to the bookstore and the library:
Midweek Meetup was canceled this week. Jen had a business meeting and I signed up for a Watercolor Portrait class with Elana Mahoney. All I managed was the sketch:
When the class was over, I switched gears and quilted another AQUA project for the RSC:
THURSDAY - Quilt/Art Day
Weekly Quilt Group was hosted by Candy, but we met at the Chapel Hill Library. It took nearly an hour for me to get there due to an accident north of the I-40/I-85 split :
Once the meeting was over, I headed to Britt's house for lunch and an ARTventure. Both of us focused on ICAD prompts. Here we are with our cards for MARGIN (me) and STREET (Britt) when I was ready for the day's grocery run:
FRIDAY - Knit Group
We met at 1928 Mill House Coffee, but we weren't able to have Linda join via Zoom:
A quick grocery run for the dregs of yesterday's list and lunch was followed by Get Messy's Friday Friends Open Studio and then Deandra's Art Zoom. I developed a plan and began mapping my layout for the 35mm ICAD prompt during the first session, while gluing the letters happened during the second and the finishing was done after dinner when my Weekly Evening Art Zoom was going on:

Angela will be announcing it soon enough. I'm wondering if she will tell us before next Saturday. In the meantime, I've got PLENTY more AQUA scraps to play with.

So, the flowers you cut yesterday weren't from your garden? Ha! Got me fooled there for a second. I love how you did glue them flat on the paper. Very nice. Do you know that MAGIN means "strength" or "born of noble birth"? Maybe it has nothing to do with streets but it's a wonderful word nonetheless. You rock, girl. ;^)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like there were lots of fun painting prompts for you this week, Joy! I've never seen an Art-o-Mat before - what does it do? There are some pretty aqua prints in that piece you're quilting - I'll enjoy seeing the finish!
