ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC22 - Week 23

Welcome to Week 23 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week's event was Workshop Week 2022 hosted by Becca @ The Happy Ever Crafter.  I participated so that I could experiment with a number of different art styles.

SUNDAYI spent a portion of my afternoon with these members of my Quilt Bee:

We attended a ceremony honoring one of our friends, who now has her name on the Wall of Memory at the Passmore Center where the Donation Bee meets:

Prior to that, I visited with Knittingsuek during our weekly Zoom call:

MONDAY - The highlight of Day One was Funky Floral Art Journaling with Megan Wells.  You can find her on her website@makewells on Instagram, and on YouTube.  Here is what I made in Megan's class:

TUESDAY - Day Two found me drawing faces in Attabeira German's Learn to Draw One-Line Portraits class:

These were the reference photos...

WEDNESDAY - Wonderful Wednesday - Did you see my completed UFO?  If not click that link to have a look.

Zoom with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color - Canceled in favor of a quick phone call during a class intermission.  Today's favorite class was a toss-up between Joanne Lauzon's class called A Colorful Collection of Cards:

And the reason I signed up for Workshop Week 2022 in the first place...

Helen Colebrook of Journal With Purpose and you will find YouTube videos linked at the bottom of most blog posts:

THURSDAY - I thoroughly enjoyed several of today's classes.  The most shocking was Learn to Draw Perspective by David Drazil.  You can find him on Instagram @david_drazil or on his website and if you want to learn this technique I would highly recommend:

FRIDAY - Weekly Knit Group - I had planned to attend, but a family emergency kept me home today.  :o((

I did spend some time quilting a quilt for my friend Carol, who liked the trees that I added to my great-nephew's quilt, so I added them to the borders of her Forest Friends quilt:

What about Workshop Week, Joyful???

This was the most interesting class of the day...

Floral No-Cut Dutch Door for Your Bullet Journal by Shayda Campbell.  You can finder her on her website, Instagram, or on YouTube.

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week.  You saw all the creative things that I was doing this past week, but here's what you didn't see:

I also played with some Bright/Dark BLUE fabric scraps between classes.  Apparently, creativity breeds creativity.  :o))

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!

  5. Way back in time, when going to college to become an elementary teacher, I took an art methods class. One of the things we did was a continuous line drawing. I had never heard of such, nor saw a piece of art work using the method. Not until 40 or so years later, when I had time to fiddle around on my machine doing what I called "Thread Sketching" (see my blog), THEN I knew the purpose of a 1 line drawing. Why didn't the professor say so? Now I see you are experiencing that type of art. Have fun with it.
