SEW...
Today is my day to join in on the:
But...
Just Black and white???
Not this color-loving quilter!!
(Carla said we could add to the color scheme, if we wanted.)
Even my Black and White scrap basket has a bit of PINK:
I've always wanted to try Black and White with YELLOW...
I started with this stack of scraps straight out of the basket above:
Then I began to piece things together:
Finally, I had a panel assembled for a small basket:
There were even enough scraps for the backing:
This is the completed Medium Quilted Basket:
Here it is in better lighting:
This is a peek at the other side:
But, WAIT!!
What about with my favorite LIME or chartreuse:
I pulled Black and White prints, too:
But, then remembered the bag of "pre-stickied" fabrics:
I decided to add some spots of my own using those:
The finished project turned out to be this adorable
Quilted Thread Catcher:
NOT intended for headgear:
And, of course...
I had to do something in Black and White with
January's Color of the Month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge:
RED!!!
Random piecing got me started on this adventure:
Little pops of RED kept me going:
Hmm... I think it needs to be bigger:
The piecing was done, SEW... I moved on to the quilting:
Hooray!! A Black and White thread catcher:
Or... Black and White TALL thread catcher/drink holder:
This Black and White beauty was a gift from a good friend a number of years ago. Sorry for the odd angle, it's WAY up on the studio wall. It was her first foray into Crumb piecing, after I taught her the technique at our small Quilt Bee:
Thanks for stopping by!
I enjoyed making these baskets for the Black and White Blog Hop. Thanks again, Carla, for hosting.
I had SEW much FUN!!!
So much so, that I couldn't stop there!
Let's try PURPLE...
Here is the top, all layered up:
Look carefully, this is a close-up of the quilting:
The resulting mug rug is waiting for YOU:
Leave a comment and be sure to let me know if you would like to WIN!!!
(It's not really as wonky as it appears. Promise.)
WINNER will be selected on Tuesday, January 29th @ 9:00 PM (EST).
Disclaimer: Not ALL scraps used were from my own fabric stash. Appreciation going out to any number of my quilting friends who donated scraps to further my fun. Look closely, there just might be some in there from YOU! :o))
