ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC26 - Week 8

Welcome to Week 8 of the 2025 Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week is going to be a busy one... Even by my standards.  Will there be time for GREEN scrap sewing? I'm not holding out hope, unless I can work the Color of the Month into this week's ProjectQUILTING challenge project!

Let's see how things go...

SUNDAY Weekly Morning Art Zoom found me adding a few more color mixed splotches to the pencil tracing done from last week's art date photo with Britt during yesterday's Get Messy Mid-month Gathering...

Britt and I hung around to chat for a bit afterwards:

MONDAY - Today's Curiosity Collective lesson was on complementary colors. I decided to mix yellow and violet.  The next step is to add coordinating collage papers to my page:

Afterwards, I went straight into this week's Watercolor Workshop with Tammy Kaye...

Then directly into this afternoon's Scrap Club Sit and Sew with Lisa.  I decided to work on my Rainbow Scrap Challenge project for GREEN month.  Here's a preview of the matchstick quilting:

Weekly Zoom Call with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color:

Since I didn't feel like driving to Chapel Hill tonight, I attended my Monthly Quilt Guild meeting via Zoom.  Tonight's speaker, Roxanne Lessa, did a slide show titled Making Quilting Decisions.  During the meeting I was able to add collage bits to the color mixed page I started earlier:

TUESDAY - Sew Day

I need to decide which GREEN scraps I want to use on this week's PQ17.4 entry:

That was followed by...

Tuesday Explorers Open Studio on Get Messy found me adding collage bits to my DETAILS prompt page from the BB Bash.  I'll share the photo later.

WEDNESDAY -  During Midweek Meetup I unified yesterday's spread...

And worked on my design for this week's ProjectQUILTING challenge, but I'll save that for Sunday's post.  After a quick lunch, I enjoyed a virtual Watercolor Workshop with Olga Koelsch.  I'm in love with the resulting iris painting:

THURSDAY - Weekly Quilt Group @ Gayle's.  She had a table full of fabric to give away along with a sweater and 2 pairs of shoes.  I came home with a small bag of fabric and the lovely sweater shown below:

I headed home for a quick lunch and went up to the studio for a watercolor class with Emma Weekes only to find that it was a repeat of the class I took with her last year.  If I had known that, I probably would have spent the afternoon at Britt's house.  It turned out for the best, as I was able to make good progress on my entry for ProjectQUILTING.

FRIDAY - QUILTCON

If you're in a local Quilt Guild, a friend shared a link for this QuiltCon Nametag Holder.  I didn't take the time to make it prior to today's event, but may try it in time for the Durham Orange Quilters Guild Show coming up in September.  Here's the photo from the designer:

I arrived early for my pickup so I channeled my knitting friends and pulled out my sock to add few rounds.  Like a good friend, I dropped a text accompanied by the photo below into our group chat to let them know I was thinking about them this morning:

Knittingsuek and I headed to Raleigh after the bulk of the morning rush.  We arrived safely...

We wandered the quilt display, shopped a little, and had lunch before my Scrap Club Meetup.  They were both delightful.  (Special thanks to Jeff for arranging our get together!)  Here I am with Jeff  B and Teresa M:

During my Weekly Evening Art Zoom, I worked on this page in my personal journal.

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week.  I'm going upstairs to quilt my PQ17.4 challenge entry made with this block:

Until next time...
