Tidy Up Tuesday - 2026 NT UFO Challenge

Welcome to a new edition of Tidy Up Tuesday here on The Joyful Quilter blog!!  I'm here to complete the final "beginning-of-the-year" posts.  Your inbox should be able to  return to regularly scheduled posts, as opposed to the barrage it just survived.  So... Here's today's story:

In December, members of my Weekly Morning Quilt Group were talking about UFOs.  Maggie mentioned a challenge where the leader pulled a number for participants to work on during the month.  I mentioned another such group.  Britt suggested that we should all create a list and volunteered to be the person who would pull a number for the project everyone should work on each month.  Thanks, Britt!

I am not fond of working to a particular project number, but I figured I would give it a try.  My usual style is choosing a UFO project that corresponds to Angela's Rainbow Scrap Challenge Color of the Month.  We'll see how this goes...

Here is my project list for the 2026 NT UFO Challenge, which may seem familiar to you, as you might have seen them in my Winter 2026 UFO Club post:

1. 4-Patch Posies (2017?)

2. Blue & Green Retreat Quilt (2025)

4. CP's Log Cabin (2024)

5.  Blue and Green for Parrish (2016)

  1. You have some lovely projects on your list. I need to finish up my UFO list too. Our local quilt shop does a PHD list of 12 each year. Projects Half Done. The incentive is a prize for those who finish all 12 in a year.

  2. Great idea! I've put names on things and put them into a hat to pull each month before. Good luck working on this month's pull.

  4. And I still cherish that #6 rainbow project. It's hanging on the wall of fame. Good luck with this challenge. I say any progress is a win. ;^)
