Welcome to Week 40 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!! This week, the fun began early. During the time the rest of the RSC Quilters were checking each other's posts, I was preparing for an all day (virtual) sewing event with my Monthly Quilt Bee.
SEW...
Last weekend, I sewed:
And the fun continued...
SUNDAY - Lots of studio work happened today! The majority of it will be shared in an upcoming post all of its own. What you need to see today is this stack of FIVE fabric tubs that Britt and I emptied...
Neither of these things would have happened today without Britt's assistance. Thank you SEW much for all your help (and for the use of your ruler, too!!)
MONDAY - Mail Call Monday
TUESDAY - It was Tidy Up Tuesday here, but it mainly consisted of cleaning up prior to my Evening Quilt Bee's Ice Cream Social (and house/studio tour.) I did clean out a few things from my fabric stash and quilt library, though.
TEN books...
and TEN cuts of fabric:
The quilters gathered:
WEDNESDAY - Wonderful Wednesday
After lunch, I did a bit of sewing:
WHEN will I be able to stitch it down on the front???
Zoom with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color
After dinner and a 1.5 mile walk, this is where and how I spent my evening... Wishing for a little more light in the new studio:
THURSDAY - UFO Club FINISH
ZoomBee LIVE @ Pineapple:
Today, we say goodbye to ORANGE, as there will be a new Color of the Month tomorrow. Mr. Basket brought this BIG, beautiful pot of flowers home from his mother's. I was more interested in capturing the color, but this is one HUGE, healthy plant:
ZoomKNIT enjoyed a cool October morning when they met out on my back deck today:
Later...
Knittingsuek came over to shop my stash:
She wanted to make a rainbow project bag, but didn't have enough scraps for the project. Silly, Sue! You and I know that I've got enough fabric scraps for the both of us (and then some!!!)
SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge! I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week. The new Color of the Month is Light/Bright GREEN:
Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!!
Oh, Jpy, so nice to see you sewing again! That mum is really gorgeous, too. Lucky you! (Are those your curtains? Very bold choice!)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun week!! I had some of those same books, and donated them last winter. I cleared out over 30 quilting and craft books from the shelves and it felt so good. That new studio is really coming together for you.
ReplyDeleteYou had a busy week! I'm looking forward to the studio tour post. Your fabric shelves in the corner look great!
ReplyDeleteWow you fit so much into a week! I always enjoy reading about your adventures!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great week! I admire you for purging ten books and ten fabric pieces. Where do you send them? Lighting for your sewing room... may I recommend full spectrum lights? I paid an electrician to put four of them in my sewing room ceiling, telling him, "I want to be able to open my stash cabinet doors at 11 pm and tell one color from another." No regrets about insisting on the best. So you live close to Pineapple Fabrics? You lucky girl! I'd love to visit sometime. They carry ALL the Painter's Palette solids, and it would be fantastic to see each of them in person. I can't imagine. I have to order most of my fabric purchases. That last picture, with the green and black designs... where did it come from? Is it a quilt? I'm wondering because I've seen those vertical, green, garlic-looking shapes on signage at a nail salon. I've always thought it would make into a beautiful quilt! Is this a picture of a quilt?
ReplyDeleteGreat wrap-up of your week, Joy. I've been happily watching you get in some sewing time. I think this time of year we're all wishing for a little more light. Just smile, that brightens up any room!
ReplyDeleteSounds like hubby has a new task to deal with that lighting issue! Yea on getting settled in and finding the things needed to start sewing. Bright greens should help brighten up the room a bit.
ReplyDeleteAmazing that you emptied FIVE tubs! Holy cow. The scrappy quilt you trimmed on your new cutting table looks fantastic. Woohoo. I'm happy you are back to being your social self in person! Woohoo!
ReplyDeleteYes, you certainly do need more lighting to sew with. Another busy week, keeping up with all your groups, and a lovely quilt shop visit too!
ReplyDeleteFun week, in quilter's diary form!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a great week!!!!
ReplyDeleteSewing in your new studio. . how fabulous! Love your birthday quilt!
ReplyDeleteWow your studio is looking gorgeous! Looks like you had fun this past week - I'm glad. That Ice Cream Social would be right up my alley.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're past the bulk of the moving interruptions and back to your usual busy schedule. Good lighting is so important, especially when you have aging eyes.
ReplyDeletePat
Beautiful and busy week! The new mum is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAnother very busy week! I'm not sure you can ever get enough "good" lighting in your sewing room.
ReplyDeleteA whole spectrum of fun and activity, Joy. Lovely finishes too. Looks like you are all settled in. Have a great week!
