For now, let's look back at the events of the last seven days...
SUNDAY - After yesterday's day-long quilting adventure, I slept late, had a slow day, and tackled Mt. Mount Washmore (a task made easier by our new-to-us Super Duper HUGE washing machine!)
MONDAY - I spent the afternoon trying on dresses for my niece's wedding. It's coming up in September and I didn't want the stress of waiting until the last minute (like I did for my nephew's wedding back in April.) These were the top contenders:
RSC Quilters should notice that nearly all of these are in the Color of the Month, a personal favorite of mine!!
TUESDAY - Day Two of deliberations on the dresses. I took them with me to my monthly evening Quilt Bee meeting. Their pick was this one:
Aside from that, I worked on another of my Scrap Attack goals:
WEDNESDAY - Day Three of deliberations on the dresses. The final choice was made... with the help of my family:
The returns were made well before the 6:00 deadline. They even offered me CASH back on my charge (which I seriously considered), but ultimately declined... Because BILLS!!!)
THURSDAY - I had hoped for a quick trip to my Weekly Quilt Group since they were meeting near me. How'd that work for me? It didn't! I got the meeting place confused. :o((
FRIDAY - Join with me in a happy dance, as we usher in the weekend!! :o))
Knit Group met this morning. I consulted with the pro about the state of my sleeves. They seem a bit wide near the cuff. We ripped them back to short sleeve length and I will try again.
To console myself, I joined them in a shopping expedition. I spotted these TEAL/TURQUOISE/AQUA treasures:
This one (minus the bag and shoes) came home with me:
After a stop for for lunch, I drove out to Sfgwife's mini-farm. She had a nearly completed scrappy quilt with TURQUOISE background to show me:
She also shared the bottom skein of AQUA (Wollmeise) yarn shown in the photo below for a new knitting project:
The main purpose of my trip was to raid her scrap stash for fun bits of fabric to expand my IMPROV Challenge quilt:
SATURDAY - Somehow, we have arrived at LINK PARTY day, again. The weeks have a way of passing quickly. Head over to Angela's So Scrappy blog to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week. You may even see some TEAL/TURQUOISE/AQUA month-in-review posts.
I'll leave you with one last look at the Color of the Month for June:
Until next time...
I really like that dress you bought! Maybe that will be the choice for the wedding?! :)ReplyDelete
You really DO love teal! I caught that glimpse of a teal mugrug in your last photo! I have two pre-wedding events this weekend so I went through the dress try-on, too. The one I bought for the rehearsal dinner would have worked for tonight's cocktail party, but I haven't lost enough weight. So I went with the "tent" I wore to my niece's wedding reception in 2010 -- kinda fallish but at least it fits AND I still have the jewelry and shoes I wore with it, just can't find the shawl ... Tomorrow's shower will be more casual.ReplyDelete
You really immersed yourself in the color of the month! I do love it and seem to have lots in my closet too. Love your dress pick for the wedding and the one you bought. ~JeanneReplyDelete
So much lovely turquoise in this post that it makes me want to play with some turquoise fabric. Love it. For the wedding, yes the second dress is the best. From the store, the second dress is just awesome on you. Wow! (I would have went for the shoes and the purse too but my budget would have probably have said no way!) lol. Anywho! Love, love, love that aqua quilt. OMG it is made with the same two blocks I am working with lately. Too funny. Enjoy the new color. ;^)ReplyDelete
An amazing week of turquoise from dishes to dresses. Your dress is lovely as well. I really like the long necklace made of different stones with the large turquoise stone. Have a fun Fourth!ReplyDelete
Oh, my, who would have known that we are surrounded by turquoise?!! Well you are anyway--you are super observant. It looks like you really had the pick of dresses for the wedding. A nice problem to have. I haven't been dress shopping lately, but it looks like pretty prints are in.ReplyDelete
You look lovely in all the different turquoise/teal/aqua dresses! You and I both favor an Empire waistline :)ReplyDelete
Your weeks are always a whirlwind of activity. Glad you found your dress for the wedding, you had some very nice choices in your queue. Hope you get in lots of stitching this week.ReplyDelete
I see your blog daily, it is crispy to study.ReplyDelete
