ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC17 - Week 48

Welcome to Week 48 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  It's transition week over at So Scrappy.  We're not changing to a new Color of the Month.  We're moving into finishing mode.

Those RSC Quilters who have completed all of the blocks required for their chosen pattern are busy assembling, quilting, and binding this year's RSC projects.  Slower participants, myself included, are working on finishing up their blocks or planning to carry over this year's projects into next year's Rainbow Scrap Challenge.

For now, let's just take a look at how my week progressed...

SUNDAY - Bag Day at Neebleb's!!  Our friend CK wanted to try a Trail Tote, so I brought along my Circle Bag to finish.  The exterior has been done for ages, but the interior needed a snap and a pocket:

After those tasks were complete, I was able to model it:

BLACK and white Circle Bag in honor of the last week of DARK month at the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!

MONDAY - Mystery Monday Link-Up at Quiltville!!  Here's a preview of what you'll see in that POST:

TUESDAY - I got a little happy with piecing my DARK scraps:

Check out my Tidy Up Tuesday post to see what became of them.

WEDNESDAY - It was Help-A-Friend Day in Joyful Quilterland.  Part of that time looked like this:

You might notice that I decided to push the season with some cheery claret colored nails:

THURSDAY - Sew Day at Needleb's!  This pile of fabric strips...

... Was transformed into placemat binding and applied:

I also worked on a couple of secret sewing projects...

And TWO:

You are obviously going to have to wait for a while to get a better look at those.  The recipients both read my blog on occasion and I don't want to spoil the surprise.  The photo above really doesn't give ANY indication of what the pieces will become!

FRIDAY - Pineapple Explosion!!  Er... Pineapple Upside Down Cake?  No, wait!!  A road trip to Pineapple Fabrics... foiled by my negative reaction to yesterday's flu shot.  :o((

It's OK, though.  Needleb said that she bought enough for both of us!!  I wonder what she got me???  Wait a minute!  I guess that's not what she meant by that, was it?!  LOL

Once I was up and about... well, sitting up in bed... I remembered that Bonnie (Hunter) released Part 2 of the On Ringo Lake Mystery today.  Watch for Monday's POST to see my progress.  Better still... Join in the FUN!

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day over at So Scrappy!!  I'm happy to report that I did manage to get 2 of my 4 RSC blocks in BROWN sewn up during this past week:

The Scrap Jar Stars will have to wait.  However, I'm hoping that they won't have to wait beyond next week.  We'll see how it goes.

Until next time...
Get Scrappy!!!

  1. So many great projects. And I love to see your red nails. Why do red nails look so fantastic on others than myself?

  2. I loved seeing the scrap basket you made rather than throw those scraps out! Such a great idea! I always have plans to make those in the back of my mind, and then forget about them. That could change this week!

  3. Great job - lots of little bits of quilting time this week. Hope you are feeling better.

  4. Sorry to hear you're not feeling so good. Sending prayers so you'll be back to normal real soon. Love the orange binding. Great job on the starts too. Enjoy! ;^)

  5. You always seem to have busy weeks, but even when you're not feeling well?! I really like the bag. It and your red nails are perfect together. Very festive!

  6. There's a lot going on in Joyland despite the flu shot problem. You seem to be keeping up with all of it. The bag is very modern and chic, goes with the red nails. I'm not doing the Ringo. I found last year it was too much pressure. This month is strictly finishes, although a new Project Linus project just popped up in my brain full blown. Started by gathering fabrics, of course.

  7. You had a fun and busy week even if you were feeling under the weather! I had my flu shot too but thankfully no reaction at all. Last year I got the flu and I had the wind knocked out of my sails for a month. I am not going to let that ever happen again!!

  8. You've got me on pins and needles. I can't wait to see how your Rainbow Scrap quilt is going to turn out!

  9. Sorry you had a bad reaction to the flu shot. Lots of fun stuff going on in your sewing space.
