WHOOSH!!! The week was gone and the weekend was upon us. Here is the play by play...
SUNDAY - I thought about quilting and caught up on all of my quilty blog friends. That's where the quilting ended. :o((
MONDAY - Knit Group met. I started the first repeat of the Horseshoe lace pattern of my Traveling Woman Shawl. I didn't get very far before it was time for me to head back to Hillsborough.
Why, Joyful???
Today was my first meeting of Lunch Bunch. I've been unavailable to join in this sorority function in the past and was pleased that my schedule (and the weather) cooperated for the Montrose Garden Tour. Read more about it on Wednesday's entry, but here's a peek:
TUESDAY - I don't recall WHAT was on the agenda. (Now, you know why I normally write an entry per day!)
Oh, wait!! I remember. I had a hair appointment and relaxed at the coffee shop for a little while afterwards. (No need to spoil a day out by rushing right home.) LOL!
WEDNESDAY - I posted my Wonderful Wednesday post. YOU can read it HERE. That evening, I did another batch of "Crumb Starters." I'm not quite sure why I'm building MORE Crumb Blocks, but for some reason, it seemed like a good way to clean up my sewing table:
For all of you RSCQuilters, please note there's ORANGE in there!!
and finished it while catching up with Knittingsuek:
It's a lovely shade of rusty ORANGE called Sweet Tea from The Copper Corgi that has been in my stash since SAFF 2015.
THURSDAY - Quilty alert!! I attended my weekly Quilt Group...
... And then remembered I hadn't been to Greensboro to pick up my winning raffle basket from the Piedmont Quilters Guild Show which was a couple of weeks ago. Sew... Off I went:
Thank you, Piedmont Quilters Guild!! Now I'm ready for Autumn.
OOPS!!!
A bit of ORANGE fabric came home with me. A half yard cut on the bottom of the stack and two FQs which were on SALE:
FRIDAY - It was late when I finally remembered that I had yet to begin this week's post. Can you believe it?!?!
Found an error in BOTH of my current knitting projects! That's what happens when I neglect it for the love of quilting. Today was Friday Knitting, so Threebagsfulled was able to help me with each of my mistakes and now I'm back on track. Thanks, Hilary!!
ORANGE nails for a mid-month refresh:
SEW... perhaps you think I'm a bit confused???
No! I had broken several nails and decided on a transitional color combination. Hot/neon PINK with an accent nail sporting two shades of ORANGE polka dots:
Fun!!
SATURDAY - Hooray!! It's a quilty day!! Angela hosts her weekly LINK PARTY for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. Go check it out, if you have a moment. Especially if you like ORANGE!!!
I was triple booked today, but helping out a friend moved to the top of the list. That left the morning to finish up this post and join in the RSC fun.
Until next time...
Get Scrappy!!!
That garden arbor picture is so inviting, I want to go there. How was the garden tour?
ReplyDeleteI read the tour on Wednesday - what a fun place to visit! Love the nails. Hope you are able to get a little sewing in this week. I hope to find my sewing machine later today with some orange.
ReplyDeleteI love the new yarn color. Very fall!
ReplyDeleteGrand plans often end up in a whoosh, don't they? How fun that the orange fabric found its way home with you.
ReplyDeleteyou have the greatest mani's! And love hearing about your week!
ReplyDeletePolka dots. Perfect! Love the new fabric additions. Too much fun.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with being triple booked! You sound like you had a fabulous week.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun prize basket to pick up. Yeah. Can't wait to see what you do with all those crumb blocks. Yes, I DO see the orange in there. The orange additions to your stash are cute too. I'm not that good at cleaning up my scrap basket. It usually just gets sorted into more strings by color. Someday will be my "string quilt" year. LOVE the nails as always. The polka dots are cute.
ReplyDeleteLove the Sweet Tea colored yarn! Is it wool or ??
ReplyDeleteNice looking orange week!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the WIN! Lucky you : )
ReplyDeleteLove the color of that yarn for your new project. Hope this week has been more conductive to quilting and knitting.
