TUESDAY - Sew Day at Needleb's (with a side trip to the local big box sewing store) followed by Knit Night. Oh! Here is what I accomplished today:
NEUTRAL Scrap Jar Stars. It's about time!! Right??
My purchases were limited to bag hardware:
With a side of fabric (not ORANGE) for a new Holiday Tote Bag:
WEDNESDAY - Was Art Day @ JJ's:
Thanks for a fun (and messy) day... and there was ORANGE involved in some of my pieces!! :o))
While blog hopping this evening, I found that Cynthia at Quilting is more fun than Housework has posted the announcement for the next Quilty Orphan Adoption Event. This is a heads-up in order for potential participants to have time to scour their shelves for items to be rehomed. You've got ONE WEEK!! SEW...
There's still PLENTY of time to check your stash for potential offerings. Happy sorting!!

THURSDAY - Weekly Quilt Group met at Britt's today. Lunch for seven was at Pueblo Viejo and afterwards, I went a little crazy and got 3 shades of ORANGE polish on my toenails:
The evening was spent cleaning the house for potential evacuees from Hurricane Irma. She is on the heels of Hurricane Harvey and is being chased by Hurricane Jose`. Scary times for lots of folks!!

I'm sure you'll notice that mine is in ORANGE in honor of September's Color of the Month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!

SATURDAY - LINK PARTY day at the So Scrappy blog!! I'm looking forward to catching up on what the other RSC Quilters have been making with their scraps this week. We are all hoping that Angela and her family are safe and sound, as they ride out Hurricane Irma today! Wondering what Deb and her family decided to do? They are in the path of the storm, too!
I'm off to my monthly Quilt Bee meeting.
I know. Also not ORANGE, but look what's blooming in my garden this week!! It's the only rhizome with buds and blooms currently on it. Such an anomaly, as none of my iris have EVER re-bloomed... until now. MUST remember to check the neighbors plants (since this one came from her garden a couple years ago.) Nope!! She's got no blooms sprouting out. This one is a bonus.
In case YOU were wondering...
HERE are the ORANGE scraps!! Well, at least SOME of them:
I'm pretty sure there aren't any big enough for making the points for my Scrap Jar Star blocks. For those, I will have to do some more digging. (I know there is a bag of ORANGE that I forgot about when I took those off the shelf AND there may be some in my 4, 5, or 6" strip drawer.
Now, seriously, I've got to leave for my Quilt Bee meeting or I'm going to be late! Wonder if they will save me a cup of coffee???

ReplyDeleteLove your nail polish colors! And there's a scrap in your orange basket that I'm swooning over - the pointed leafy one with white. I'm contemplating a Hawaiian Shirt type quilt, and that looks so tropical. Fun post!
