ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC17 - Week 15

Welcome to Week 15 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week...

SUNDAY - Tackled Mt. Washmore and gathered my MULTICOLORED fabric, finding the basket well and truly overflowing with scraps:

I also took ANOTHER trip to Chapel Hill!!!  (Lucky thing for me, it's fairly close.)  DS2 has a doctor appointment in town tomorrow.

MONDAY - Missed most of Knit Group in favor of going to the doctor with DS2, hoping to find out what's going on.  A trip to the pharmacy AND a return trip to UNC, then off to catch the tail end of knitting.  I was able to knit a row or two before we all headed out to lunch.  (It's been AGES since we've done that and everyone enjoyed Catrina's.)

When I got home, I spent some time in the sewing room sorting through that mound of scraps from yesterday.  Picking out all of the DARK rainbow prints - to coincide with the despair I've been feeling over DS2's recent medical problems:

TUESDAY - It's a stay-at-home day.   No, really!!  I stayed home ALL DAY (except for when I went for my quarterly pedicure.) Fancy RAINBOW toes...

... With a color to coordinate with the fingers:

Please ignore the discoloration.
Apparently, the lighting was a bit off for this shot!!

Before lunch, I sorted through the BRIGHT rainbow scraps - to represent the hope I feel now that DS2 has some meds to help him:

WEDNESDAY - Another stay-at-home day. Well... it was SUPPOSED to be.  Until Needleb decided that we needed another Sew Day!!

THIS is how far I got on my RSC blocks before heading over...

BRIGHT:

And DARK, all laid out and ready to be sewn:

Too busy sewing to take pictures while I was there.  Let me assure you, progress was made on not one project, but TWO!!  :o))

THURSDAY - Same old, same old.  Spent the day helping a friend. At the end of the day I went to the grocery store AND took a trip to Raleigh to pick up DS1.  He finished his project early, so decided to grace us with his presence for the weekend.  :P

FRIDAY - It's the Good Friday holiday.  ANOTHER stay-at-home day for THREE in one week!!  This time I made my way back to Needleb's house for MORE sewing.)

Know what that meant?!  I actually ESCAPED another trip to Chapel Hill!!!  Thanks, DS1 for doing the honors.

Progress on the DARK Scrap Jar Star, components assembled:

The BRIGHT Scrap Jar Star is ready for assembly, too.  It's just not laid out for stitching:

I jumped between working on the 4-Patch blocks for my En Provence and making handles for a set of Trail Totes.  You can see Needleb working on her own 4-Patch blocks, but hers are for the outer border:

SATURDAY - LINK PARTY day.  Can't WAIT to see what MULTICOLORED madness the RSC Quilters have gotten up to during the week!

Here's what I accomplished during the week:

Assembled DARK Scrap Jar Star...

And... BRIGHT Scrap Jar Star:

Both in the MULTICOLOR Rainbow Scrap Challenge Color of the Month for April.  I'm calling that a success!!

Until next time...
Get Scrappy!!!

  2. That's it! I've never had a pedicure (I have ugly toes.) If I ever do, I'm getting RAINBOW toes!!! Love that we were both working on scrappy stars (together). Have a great weekend!

  3. Good job on the stars. Love that you made a dark multi-colored and a bright multi-colored. It makes more sense than to have both of them in one star. I love both of them ... and the pedicure! ;^)

  6. Both stars are so great. The difference is very vivid. I hope they represent your change in mood as well. Btw, how big are your squares for the scrap part? I'm so tempted to start them. Have a wonderful weekend with your family. Beth is cooking a large roasting chicken and I've made traditional Polish stuffed cabbage rolls.

  8. Love your stars! They might be just what I needed to see to get gong on mine. I think I even have a similar stripe I could use for star points... Happy Easter!
