ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC21 - Week 31

Welcome to Week 31 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week was busier than normal, but I chose a backing for my July 2021 TABLE SCRAPS Challenge entry:

SUNDAY - I released a new edition of Sew Some Love Sunday.

That was before I was off on a whirlwind tour of NC, VA, TN, and GA with one of my favorite men.  DS2 went with me to help with the many, many hours of driving:

I thought of my Rainbow Scrap Challenge friends when I saw these two:

MONDAY - I just arrived yesterday, but today is the trip home.  A previously scheduled Mail Call Monday post was released today.

The trip.  In reverse today...

And finally, good old North Carolina:

TUESDAY - The final walk thru of the new house and then I raced off to my Monthly Quilt Bee meeting:

WEDNESDAY - Closing day and a trip to the new house to begins some of the projects we want to  do before moving in:

THURSDAY - Weekly Quilt Bee went LIVE again this week:

Later, another friend joined us, so I took another group photo:

Another trip to the new house, but first...

This week's Zoom with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color:

FRIDAY - In the wee hours of the morning, I released the July 2021 Table Scraps Challenge/Link Party.

We had a good turnout for ZoomKNIT this morning:

Later, it was back to the new house to do some cleaning:

That exorbitant cleaning estimate is looking more and more fair!

Saturday - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC quilters have been working on this month.  I'm pretty sure you will see Dark Neutrals along with a lot of Dark BLUE.  The variety of project is sure to astound you.

Until next time...

  1. I bet you're looking forward to getting the move done, and getting your new sewing studio organized. I'm sure that's a ways down the road, though. Good luck with all that!

  2. Good luck with your move and all that it entails!

  3. Congratulations on the new house! I'm sure all the cleaning and mess will be worth it. Remember to be safe with all the lifting! :)

  4. You’ve been really busy lately! Isn’t it nice to have adult sons to help with driving and other heavy lifting! Congrats again on a new home! Won’t that be fun, to settle in new digs!

  5. When we moved into our first house (that we bought, not rented) we didn't realize how filthy it was until after closing. Hubby cleaned all counters several times, but they were still sticky when I finally got there (a couple of weeks later). It took a couple of months to get everything cleaned properly. Glad you are getting to do it before you move in (I didn't have that chance).

  6. Congrats! An open slate to build a new sewing studio in =).

  7. How exciting, a new home! How far away is it from your present house? In another state?

  8. I've moved 9000 times (well, it's seemed like 9000 anyway) in my life and I don't envy you the process at all! Hang in there!

  9. Agh, cleaning! Good luck; it looks horrific! When you've finished it will be beautiful and sparkling, I'm sure. Hang on to that thought!

  10. How exciting to be moving ... also what a headache! I'm willing to bet that the sewing room is organized and up & running soon.

  11. So many states, that was a whirlwind tour. It will be exciting to set up your new sewing studio at the new place. Something to look forward to while you are dealing with the move itself.

  12. You've got a lot going on that isn't quilting right now but you still fit it all in your schedule-amazing!! Keep smiling!

  13. As someone with moving experience, it is well worth the money to have professionals come in to clean! The monumental task of packing/moving/unpacking, etc. takes all of your energy. One foot in front of the other…you got this!
