What happened, Joyful???
She received the following message upon clicking the link on my Tutorials Tab...
Sorry, the page you were looking for in this blog does not exist.
Where did it go?!?!
This was the link:
https://thejoyfulquilter.blogspot.com/2020/12/tutorial-tuesday-quilted-scrap-baskets.html
I figured it was simply broken. That's when I checked my Blogger Dashboard and it wasn't there!! It was as if it never existed. :o((
How does a post vanish into thin air???
Have any of you ever experienced this?
More importantly...
Did any of you happen to print out the post?
I am sick about this. There were MANY hours involved in the creation of that tutorial. Years of developing my method of making these Quilted Scrap Baskets went into that post. I had included a number of links to acknowledge those who inspired me along the way.
Ugh!!!
You all waited SEW long for the release of my tutorial, asking time and again when I would be releasing it. Now, only 7 short months after its release, it's just GONE. I really didn't need ONE MORE THING to worry about right now!
Never fear...
Your patience will be rewarded, dear readers. The tutorial will return. All in good time.
Until then...
Back to the drawing board!!!
UPDATE!!!
As of 4:15 pm on Saturday, July 17, 2021...
Thanks to Britt and Deb, I was able to restore the tutorial post this afternoon. A BIG thank you to both of them!! The links still need to be refreshed, but I'll get to that soon.
I'm sorry to hear about that, Joy - so frustrating for you! I hope your tutorial surfaces somewhere!
ReplyDeleteWhoa! What the heck??? Computers are sooooo good until they go sooooo wrong. Good luck getting your tutorial back in one piece.
ReplyDeleteWhat!?!? This is terrible. Last year when blogger made a change in their publishing format, I lost portions of a post from my Piece From the Past Sew Along. It was a mess, but I hated that it made me look like a poor writer with sentences not making sense and pictures missing. There was another time a bunch of pictures went missing and then returned a few days later. Weird! Good luck.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I don't think I printed it out.... cause, you know it was on-line! I'm so sorry this happened. Maybe wait for a few days and see if it comes back, or put in a question/issue to blogspot?
ReplyDeleteWhat a PAIN! Blogging can be so difficult at times. I can't reply to folks who leave a comment on my blog and I've tried so many different ways to remedy the situation but all to no avail. Hopefully your post will appear just as it vanished..wouldn't that be awesome?!!!
ReplyDeleteDid you try the wayback machine? (Internet archive). I found this page. https://web.archive.org/web/20210120054413/https://thejoyfulquilter.blogspot.com/2020/12/tutorial-tuesday-quilted-scrap-baskets.html
ReplyDeleteMaybe you won't have to start from scratch.
How does that happen?! No, this has never - thankfully! - ever happened to me. I know how you feel, and truly sympathize. You're reminding me that it's time to back up my blog again!
ReplyDeleteI would send a message to Blogger, asking them to look for it and why has it disappeared in the first place. If you look in the Blogger photo archive, your pictures might, might, all be still there. I am sad and angry that this has happened to you. Or anyone actually. Arrghh! :^{
ReplyDeleteAren't computers wonderful UNTIL they're not. ☹️
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry this happened, Joy. I would check back on the post in a day or so. Last week my blog mysteriously had someone else's IG page linked instead of mine. The next day it was back to normal. Also you might see if you can contact Blogger . I hope you are able to retrieve it.
ReplyDeleteOh no, how disheartening! I hope you can get it back.
ReplyDeleteThat’s just heartbreaking! I wouldn’t even know what to do! Who to contact! I started blogging, learning by the seat of my pants so to speak! I hope you find it!
ReplyDeleteSo sad to read about the lost tutorial. I wish there was a way to back up a blog. I back up all my data on a hard drive with Apple's Time machine, but don't know how to export and save a blog.
ReplyDeleteThis is so sad and frustrating! I'm sorry :(
ReplyDeleteNothing is more frustrating than a technical difficulty! I'm so sorry!
ReplyDeleteThat is strange that it disappeared. I am glad you were able to get it back. I too was thinking of the wayback machine.
ReplyDeleteIf you contact blogger, they should be able to restore the original post. Months ago, when blogger went crazy, they deleted one of my blog posts. I complained, and a short time later, they put it back up (no explanation as to why it was taken down).
ReplyDeleteOh, how awful! Good luck finding or recreating.
