ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC21 - Week 51

Welcome to Week 51 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week was a mixed bag.  The highlight was this:

WHAT?!?!  You actually did some scrap sewing, Joyful???

That's right, friends.  I stitched up the base for a little mug rug gift.  Just ignore the little sneak peek about the 2022 TABLE SCRAPS Challenge.  :o))

SUNDAY - Eerie Choral music and lights through the trees out back:

What on Earth???

Apparently, it was something called the Bethlehem Experience at the church across the road from the lot behind our house.  Who knew?!

I mentioned it to LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color during our Zoom call:

Remarkably enough, I could hear the music upstairs on the front side of the house up in the studio, even though the speaker system was set up on the complete opposite side of the church (farthest away from our house.)  That music was playing so loud!!  (Surely, it must have been breaking every town noise ordinance on the books!)  DS2 wondered what the decibel level might have been and I mentioned that I certainly wouldn't have wanted to be one of the performers.  Can you say permanent hearing damage??  I think they got it.  YIKES!!

MONDAY - Quilt Guild I won the anagram game for quilters.  Two holiday FQs, but no photo.  Here's one of me sporting a happy face and our new Quilt Show T-Shirt:

TUESDAY - Oh!  On the way home from Chapel Hill last night, I had to pull over to take a photo of this holiday blowup extravaganza:

WEDNESDAY - It was complete mayhem at work today!  The final day for order to arrive by the holidays turned out to be the biggest sale day of the season.  I'm exhausted, but then I'm greeted with yet another beautiful sunset and I perk up for just a moment:

THURSDAY - Remember how I told you that I was tired last night?  I went to bed not long after dinner and slept 10 hours.  After another long day, I take a moment to enjoy the beautiful sunset that I see when I leave work on time:

FRIDAY - Glad to see the end of the week this week... Too bad I'm scheduled to work tomorrow!  Alas, I stayed late to make some personal phone calls and missed the sunset.  Instead, I got to take in this beautiful full moon (?) rising above the warehouse:

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week.  You go ahead now.  I'll be along later.  You know...  After work.

Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!

  5. Thanks for the little peek into your week! It’s such a busy time of year! I can’t imagine the retail sector these days. I worked in the back office of retail for many years, but never on the front lines! I’m looking forward to 2022 and all the challenges! <3

  6. It's apparent you're keeping busy with your job, and trying to work other things - your favorite things - into your days. I'm glad you're appreciating sunsets, and scraps as you can.

  9. It's always such a busy time of year, especially for those still working. During my working life, I always used to so look forward to the last day of work, before the Christmas break.

  10. Bright and cheery orange scraps, and some really pretty sunsets, too. That house has *lot* of inflatables-- a little bit of sensory overload there! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

  11. I understand perfectly how mind-calming it is for you to see the sunset each evening. Gracie & I enjoy the sunrises on our walks! So happy to hear you managed a little play time. I love your Quilt Show T-Shirt. I'm marking my calendar and will try to plan a trip to my brother's in the fall around those dates! Good job advertising already!

  13. Well at least maybe the worst is over work-wise, unless there's a big end of year clearance sale. It's good to take the time to enjoy simple pleasures like sunsets (or sunrises depending on one's schedule).
