The Guest Blogger(s) - Vol. 55 - Jane Flies Like a Butterfly

Welcome to another edition of The Guest Blogger(s)!!  I recently received an email from Jane in Australia.  She has completed her entry for the July TABLE SCRAPS Challenge.

She had the following to say...

Hello Joy,
I found this challenge to be a real joy to complete.
Firstly, my granddaughter was staying for the school holidays.
Secondly, I had just completed a group project using butterfly fabrics and had scraps on the table.  Here is that project:

What became of the scraps, Jane???

So I had enough of the background/ lining fabric to do the back of the placemat challenge, and I cut a big beautiful butterfly from the blue scraps:

My granddaughter joined in and we cut lots of little butterflies from all sorts of scraps (one was a fat quarter 😧). Avi decided she wanted all her butterflies on a dark green “floral” fabric to make a cushion cover. She took hers home and I don’t have a pic 😢.

I had an aqua fabric with white flowers so put all my cutouts on it- batting, quilting - missing all the butterflies- and binding:

I think it may go home with Avi after the next school holidays.

Jane

I replied:

Look at you, rocking the challenge this month!! Fabulous projects made even better with your grandfather on hand for the process, Jane. I just finished my own entry. Happy to be well ahead of the deadline this time around! Thanks for joining in and I'll release your post sometime between tomorrow and Tuesday.

Happy quilting!
Joy

Give Jane some quilty love in the comments below.  I'm happy to share her donation placemat entry with all of you.  I know that you enjoy seeing her work as much as I do!  Thank you for sending the photos for the blog, Jane.  I enjoy being able to post your projects (and anyone else's without a blog.)  It's SEW nice to be inspired by quilters around the globe who share ways to USE the scraps on our cutting tables!

Link Party REMINDER...

The July 2024 TABLE SCRAPS Link Party will be opening on  Friday, July 25th @ 12:01 AM.  I hope that YOU will join in the scrappy fun!  You haven't started sewing yet?  No worries.  Small projects are quick to make and entries can be added until Wednesday, August 7th @ 11:59 PM (EDT).

Until next time...
USE those (table) SCRAPS!!!

  2. Jane, I love all your butterflies - the black and white, the colorful ones, and the butterflies on the flowery background! All so pretty. And how fun to create with your granddaughter, too!
