Welcome to Round FOUR of the Stay at Home Round Robin!! This week's prompt was offered by Roseanne and Sue @ Home Sewn by Us. Their selection?? Checkerboard. I'm not sure how that will fit in with my current plan. It may be time to switch gears.
But first...
Let's see if I was able to carve out some time to work on my SAHRR project because, as you heard last week, I'm STILL running a week behind the other makers! :o((
I made some progress...
On Round 3. My goose was cooked:
Here is my gaggle of geese...
Something happened on the way to the oven the sewing machine:
A plan was taking shape just before Round 4 was being announced. Thanks to inspiration from Karen @ Sew Little Time , my wheels were turning on an exciting possibility for my Flying Geese border. My Flying Geese have flown...
A phone consult with my friend LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color, (prior to sewing) confirmed that my Flying Geese idea was a good one.
About that Checkerboard for Round 4...
I've got that taken care of, as well:
I didn't think it would ever happen, but...
I'm all caught up on my Stay at Home Round Robin (so I released this post a little early so I wouldn't miss the Link Party @ Home Sewn by Us!) Here it is in its current four-round state:
Just in time to check out the Round 5 prompt from Wendy @ Pieceful Thoughts of My Quilting Life.

Whew, I did it!!
Oh, see how it is growing!!! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love your tiny neighborhood, Joy! It's so cute! Your original star part is now making me think of a beautiful sunset above the mountains to the west of the neighborhood - something we see here pretty regularly!
ReplyDeleteYay for your Geese! They are perfect. And I love the way you are adding your "rounds"!
ReplyDeleteHi Joy! I think that addition of the checkerboard pieces at the bottom are just the perfect choice. I love how your project is coming together. Thanks for linking up and congrats for catching up! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
ReplyDeleteI bet it feels good to be caught up. The little houses with their flying geese roofs shows you know how to think outside the box.
ReplyDeletePat
You are doing sew much better than me! I finished round one =)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this! It's so fun to see how you've put a twist on this sew along!
ReplyDeleteWhat a joy to see this quilt come together. I love those little house blocks those are so stinking cute. Have a great week and hope you get in a lot of quilting.
ReplyDeleteSo the flying geese metamorphosed into rooftops??? That is exactly what I see when I see flying geese. That spikey star is much more of a conundrum to me. Of course you did it. You always do :-)
ReplyDeleteSo fun to see everyone's different takes on the SAHRR! You are really crossing the traditional lines with this one. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love your interpretation of the flying geese! It's been fun to see how each quilter has incorporated the week's prompt into their quilt.
ReplyDeleteHey, Flying Geese are Flying Geese and SAHRR rounds are open to interpretation! Great way to run with it. I've so enjoyed seeing how everyone works their rounds up.
ReplyDeleteHmmm This is getting interesting.....
