Miss Pat is back with her February entry. As an Instagram user, she had some trouble linking up with the Challenge last month, so opted to have me post this month's project, as well.
Pat made the following table topper in YELLOW for February's Rainbow Scrap Challenge (as requested, but not required.)
Here's her story...
After tossing around several ideas for a topper for a low chest in the entryway, I decided on one using two of these flower shapes. Unfortunately, after finishing one, I realized that the finished piece would be too big. So I switched gears and made a single flower for a small round table.
I used the Hex n More ruler by Jaybird Quilts using the jewel shape. I didn't want to deal with a complicated binding so I just stitched around the edges, with right sides together, turned it and slip stitched the opening. Then I top stitched the outside edge and ditch stitched between the shapes.
I thought about FMQ different motifs in each segment, but decided to leave it for now.
Thanks for sharing your pretty YELLOW table topper with us, Pat! As noted earlier, I'm posting her entry for the February TABLE SCRAPS Challenge. I will gladly do the same for others who run into problems with joining the Link Party next week.
Share the quilty love for Pat's project in the comments below. I know you enjoyed seeing her table topper as much as I did! Thank you, again, Miss Pat.
Link Party Reminder...
For your convenience, February's TABLE SCRAPS Link Party will be open from 12:01 AM on Friday, February 26th - 11:59 PM on Sunday, February 28 (EST). I'm SEW looking forward to seeing what everyone has made with their "table scraps." Please join us the LAST WEEKEND of each month for the Link-up. Remember readers, if YOU have a Table Scraps project to share, but no blog to share it on, drop me an email with photos and the story of your entry.
Until next time...

Very pretty--I do like to work with hexagons!
ReplyDeleteWonderful! The yellow is sunshine under the angels. I can see you and others smile as you pass the table. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteA very fun and unique table topper. How Pat dealt with the binding question was inspired.
