ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC23 - Week 45

Welcome to Week 45 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week was a crazy week at work and ZERO sewing got done. If you enjoy seeing my art, keep reading. 

SUNDAY - Today was a busy day.  It began with my weekly ELASM Hangout at Get Messy.  This morning I worked on the right hand page of the journal spread below:

This afternoon was an ART-venture Day with Britt:

I worked on this and a few other journal spreads:

I thought the Junior Quilter's birthday party was scheduled for later in the afternoon... Too bad I got the date wrong and MISSED IT!!!  :o((

I swung by Knittingsuek's on the way home, but she was napping.  She left a gift for me on her porch.  I couldn't wait to dig in!  Sorry that I didn't take a photo, but I was in a hurry to get to the pharmacy before it closed.

MONDAY - Work

After dinner, I paged through a magazine to find some lovely photos of Fall foliage and planned out this journal spread:

TUESDAY - What says Autumn more that pumpkin season?  Before work I added a few details to the pumpkin themed collage I did last night:

WEDNESDAY - Work

Afterwards, I had a fight with Zoom to be able to join my weekly call with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color:

After dinner, I felt to going for a walk...

On the treadmill, while knitting a round or two:

THURSDAY - Work is getting busier as the holidays approach.  In order to prepare for my day, I added some leaves to the watercolor page that I did last night:

FRIDAY - Work was a complete zoo today!!  I marched myself straight up to the studio when I got home.  The tree drawn this morning needed some red and orange 'leaves' added and I benefited from the calming activity of mixing paint and dabbing on additional dots of color:

SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!  I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week because I haven't sewn a stitch to share here.  Heck!  I haven't even set up my sewing space since Retreat!!  Shocking, right?  I was itching to get back to it, but that just didn't happen and may not happen today either.

Why not, Joyful ??? 

Because it's an Art Day.   I'll be searching through the magazines I bought on the way home yesterday to see if I can find more Fall-themed photos for my Collaged Pamphlet journal.

Then... 

Right after lunch, I'll be attending a virtual art journaling class.  Today is another lesson in Get Messy's Pocket Gratitude Class with Helen @ Journal With Purpose.

ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC23 - Week 44

Welcome to Week 44 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  This week, I was slammed back into the realm of reality.  Work dominated my days, but I fit in art and quilting when able.

SUNDAY - Coming into the new week, I started it off by Zooming with my Easy Like a Sunday Morning hangout friends from Get Messy and a little bit of art.  I painted these Iris with my new watercolors:

After lunch, I blew Knittingsuek away by my productivity at Retreat.  We put on our surprised faces for your benefit:

MONDAY - Mail Call Monday

This was Iris advertisement I was inspired by yesterday...

I mixed these shades to coordinate with the lightest purple on the facing page:

TUESDAY - Tidy Up Tuesday

DON'T MISS THIS ONE!!!  I actually FINISHED a quilt UFO!!

Sunday afternoon, I watched Andrea's Watch. Learn. Play. Lab from last night.  She made a little accordion journal from a single sheet of Mixed Media paper and I used colors and marks much like hers to make one of my own.  After the paint was dry, I decided to add one of the stickers from a bit of happy mail:

WEDNESDAY - Wonderful Wednesday

I missed Zooming with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color last week so I raced home from work this afternoon for catch-up call: 

THURSDAY - Work... Again.  I was spared a trip to the grocery store.  Thank you, DS2!!!  After dinner, I went up to work on the new class from The Roben's Nest, but ended up mixing up some watercolors and painting "dots" for Saturday's Get Messy's FREE Pocket Gratitude Journal class instead:

Knit Group met without me (again) this morning.  I've got bad news.  They will be meeting without me for the foreseeable future.  My work schedule changed and I'm going in to work an hour earlier until the end of the year.  The holiday rush has begun.  :o((

You see, Angela didn't call for a color, but for "Block set completion and assembly".  That doesn't exactly work for the ABC (Table) SCRAPS Challenge so I made an executive decision and participants can play that any way they choose.  Me?  I'm still not sure which of the overflowing baskets will win out.

Design Floor Friday - Pedal Pushers Retreat - My Projects

Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday!!  As you may have read, I was in the mountains last week for a Quilt Retreat.  I thoroughly enjoyed my time with members of the Cabarrus Quilters' Guild and friends.

I brought along a small stack of Orphan Blocks in October's Color of the Month:

I arranged them tonight and stitched them together...

Then promptly set to work making binding and preparing a backing:

TUESDAY - Bringing a plan to fruition...

After dinner, I stitched blocks into rows, but didn't take any photos.  Sorry about that!

WEDNESDAY - Because not long after breakfast, this quilt top was done:

By lunchtime, this scrappy purple quilt was ready to stitch into rows:

Once that was prepped, I gave Anita a big handful of scraps from my basket:

That's one way to make a quilter's day...

And bring my scrap basket under control!!!  :o))

The "Asthma Twins" were busy working on projects:

After lunch, I am pleased to report that the rows are coming together:

By tea time, the quilt top was assembled!  Ignore the fact that I'm holding it upside down...

FRIDAY - Special thanks to our hostess, Carol and the staff of the Retreat Center!!  The Pedal Pushers Retreat was just the getaway that I needed before the holiday hubbub rolls in at work.

I am SEW pleased with the week's productivity...

And suddenly the week is gone and I'm all packed up to head home:
