ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC18 - Week 14

Welcome to Week 14 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  It's an abbrieviated version this week.  Too much to do in order to prepare for aa trip.   Lucky you!!  LOL

SUNDAY - Angela announced the Color of the Month:

MONDAY - In the garden:

TUESDAY - The post-holiday sales offered additional YELLOW:

WEDNESDAY - Shopping for something to wear on my trip:

YELLOW must be one of the "hot" colors this season:

THURSDAY - Helping a friend and appointment filled my day.

FRIDAY - Travel day. Oh, what a day it was!!  It was filled with traffic, alternate routes, and a minor parking lot incident involving a Major Rental Box Van with an inexperienced driver.  The sum total of which produced a late arrival and an exhausted quilter!!

SATURDAY - Party!!  Oh, and it's LINK PARTY day, too.  My focus is on the family wedding that we are attending.  I'll catch up with everyone early next week.

Scrap Attack Tuesday - March Mission Accomplished

Welcome to another edition of Scrap Attack Tuesday Wednesday!!  My goals for the year were written up in THIS POST.  March was a crazy month filled with extra hours away from my studio, a wedding quilt to complete, and a commission quilt demanding additional attention.  Even so, it was my goal to accomplish SOMETHING with my fabric scraps, thanks to the encouragement from Sarah and the Scrap Attack Challenge!

Here is the result from the March Job Pull...

4. Like Katie, Sew the bucket of Bonus HSTs from Ruth S.

Nice spring-y colors.  Look!  There's even some LIGHT GREEN for the RSC.

Here I am, sewing away.  The container held WAY more triangles than I ever imagined:

I even got a head start on April's Color of the Month for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  See those YELLOW bits?  Color me happy.  :o))

Those are the scraps from Sandy.  (Thanks again!!)  I've made a Quilted Yarn Bowl out of them, but realized that I'm just not done with them yet.  There are MORE items waiting to be made from Sandy's cast offs.  SEW much more!!  :o))

I'm just glad that the scrap gods smiled on me by giving me a fairly easy task assignment this month!!

Why, Joyful???

Because I've also got a UFO to complete before the beginning of April.  I can't very well attend a family wedding without bringing a quilt along for the gift!!!  What kind of aunt would that make me?!  Especially, when the bride and groom requested one.

Mystery Monday - The Reveal and a Bonus

Welcome to the next edition on Mystery Monday!!  I feel like I missed a week.  I guess it was because my mind was on other things during the last 7 days.

This is my sewing effort for Clue #5.  I was a little slow!!

Before the final LINK-UP, we were encouraged to play with the various pieces and parts.  Other participants came up with some really good ideas!!

Libby posted the BIG Reveal.

You will find Libby's Mystery top in THIS POST.  Fair warning... It will take your breath away!!  I can't WAIT to see the completed quilt.  It's gorgeous and I want to make one JUST like hers!!

At the beginning of this adventure, Libby promised us a Bonus Block.  Find the BONUS block HERE.

I was limited by my fabric selection.  Although, I suppose I could used it as a jumping off point.  Maybe I can figure something out...

ScrapHappy Saturday - RSC18 - Week 13

Welcome to Week 13 of the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!!  I'm on a time crunch and shifted my focus the last few days.  There's always a juggling act going on in my sewing room.

Here's what happened...

SUNDAY - A whole lot of laundry and not much else.

MONDAY - A meeting in the morning and helping a friend the rest of the day didn't leave much time for quilting..

TUESDAY - I was busy all day, but didn't get anything done. The afternoon was filled with a haircut and preparing for my Monthly Quilt Bee meeting.  I did get a little GREEN sewing done then:

But when the evening was done, it looked like even more fabric:

WEDNESDAY - The morning went by in a blur of bills and errand.  The afternoon was all about borders...

THURSDAY - It's time to get serious.  The wedding's next week!! It took HOURS, but the quilting is done:

Wonderful Wednesday - Fiber Fumes

Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday!!  I'm here to tell you about my Knitting Excursion from this past Friday.

An early morning appointment at the local coffee shop...

... Was followed by a(nother) trip to Raleigh.  Back to the Fairgrounds for a completely different experience.

Our first sighting was a unicorn in a "knit" dress:

Dan Tracy Designs had the most beautiful wooden shawl pins that started out as scissor holders and some are still made that way:

Empty Pockets Alpaca Farm had magnetic metal shawl pins and I brought the one on the bottom right home with me since it coordinated with my earrings from Spiral Studio:

This visit was all about the YARN!!  Special thanks to Stacy for driving.  It was a pleasure to be able to sit in the back and make some good progress on my Hoodie Shawl Cardigan.
