SUNDAY - Look at me!! I'm sewing with some PURPLE fabric scraps:
I also did a collage about sewing:
There was also a Zoom with Knittingsuek, but we were so excited to jump into our conversation that I forgot to take a photo. :o((
MONDAY - Work meant a game of Wordle...
And Quordle, too, while waiting for the phone to ring:
This afternoon, today's journal pages went from simple...
... To a bit more involved:
This evening, I attended Quilt Guild for our Ice Cream Social. I have a funny story that goes along with this photo...
... As usual, I forgot my handmade nametag at home so I was recruited to pull a name for the prize drawing. Maggie was sitting right behind me and joked that I should pick her as the winner. The photo above shows the box of goodies she won!! I couldn't do that again, if she paid me. LOL!!
I came home to find gremlins were running rampant on Blogger. No less than three of the friends I follow had previously released "fresh" posts show up in my email.
TUESDAY - A mountain of paperwork and a passel of errands kept me busy today. Day 49's ICAD prompt was wallpaper, so I used one of the last remaining scraps, expanding the design with some paint to fill the space:
WEDNESDAY - Impromptu doctor appointment? Yep! I was on the call list for a dermatology visit. From phone call to office visit in just ONE HOUR!! This is the (elementary) art journal page that I did when I got home
Later, I enjoyed my Zoom call with LeeAnna @ Not Afraid of Color:
THURSDAY - Work. More Wordle...
... And Quordle. I won both:
During a slow part of the day, I did the caricatures in the journal entry shown below. Later, I collaged the drawing into my journal and embellished the page with paint, handmade paper and a phrase:
FRIDAY - Knit Group!!! Britt and I were roped into untangling a skein of yarn...
... For Hilary. Normally, she provides this service for me. I'm pretty impressed with myself and my assistant because that skein was a massive mess:
Tracy was in attendance today, as well. Stacy, too, but I missed a photo of Beth and Linda:
Afterwards, I went to say goodbye to my PURPLE readers:
They were donated, along with their lavender case, because they can't support my new prescription. I was a bit sad to drop them into the slot shown below, but they served me well for a number of years:
SATURDAY - It's LINK PARTY day for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge! I hope you will join me in visiting Angela @ So Scrappy to see what the RSC Quilters have been up to this week. My main RSC goal for the month was accomplished by coloring and labeling my Pas de Deux planning sheet - even if the camera didn't pick up the PURPLE pencil very well:
Until next time...
Get SCRAPPY!!
I think Blogger's gremlins filled everyone's inboxes with odd things this past week! I got a post from someone that was published in 2020, lol! You had a full week - so glad squeezed a little purple sewing in and fun with friends, too.
ReplyDeleteYou have been a busy bee, new glasses are always a treat. Funny how the glass cases never fit the new ones. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteLOL on you pulling Maggie's name, Joy!!! I had the same thing with blogger sending me older posts from one person I follow. Happy purple month!!!
ReplyDeleteA little purple on a busy week. Impressive 1 hour turn around on the doctor. Hope you get some fun sewing in this week.
ReplyDeleteGood bye, Purple Readers! On with the new! We need our eyes to be fully capable of seeing for ALL of our activities! Glad you managed some RSC sew-time and great job on Quordle!
ReplyDeleteYour posts are so full of joy just like their writer! Love your use of the word passel as well as all those creative ventures of yours...I especially like the watercolour look of your Wallpaper prompt piece. Great stuff~
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by the two Wordles you shared. I never had the word "flock," but I did have the word "aphid." The NYT must have a couple different offerings each day. It's nice to see you sewing with purple, but sorry about having to ditch the purple frames, though to a good home. I saw my optician this week and managed to get new lenses (two steps different in my right eye vision; four steps different in my left eye vision) for old frames. Sure glad about that. And learned that cataracts are not bad enough to require surgery (darn). So now, with clearer vision, I can more clearly see the cataract fog, and halos they make around lights. Sheesh.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful week-filled with other creative friends!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing your journal pages! Nice job on all of them, but I especially like the Florida page!
